River was sitting in the training clearing, his ice blue eyes gleaming and his blue fur shining. He was waiting for his paw to come.

Wolfpaw ran towards the training area, she hoped she wasn't late, then she saw her mentor and padded up to him

River nodded and demonstarted the move. He leapt, twisted, and slammed his paws down, biting the air. "Your turn."

Wolfpaw's jaw dropped "O-okay" she said, she copied what River did, it was a bit tricky for her

"Good, now try it on me." River mewed, standing up. "If you get the landing and the twist right, you should be able to pin me down." The large tom braced himself for his paw's attack.

Wolfpaw blinked, then nodded. She ran towards River and leapt, twisted, and slammed her paws down.

River staggered, but didn't fall. "Great job!" He praised. "When you get a bit bigger, I bet will be able to knock me over. I'm a pretty big, strong tom." He admired himself for a moment before clearing his head. "Ok. Ready to hunt?" He gave his smooth fur a few licks.

Wolfpaw nodded, she sniffed the air, she scented a mouse and started to stalk toward it.

Wolfpaw saw the mouse and stalked upon it, when she was close enough, she leapt and pounced, she quickly ended the mouse's life. "I think I'll catch some fish." she decided, she took the mouse and hid it under a bush, she padded toward the nearest body of water

River hadn't hunted any land prey. She went straight for the lake.

Wolfpaw arrived at the lake, she kept her shadow away from the water, she kept her eye on a trout. When it was close, she struck her paw at the trout and flipped the trout out of the water, she quickly grabbed it with her jaws and took it down. "One fish down, more to catch" she said proudly

River added a fish to his small pile. He had three now, and he focused on catching the fourth.

Wolfpaw caught two more, "So that's 3 fish and a mouse... I'll see if I can get 3 more fish" she said to herself
