Dexter jumped. He looked up and saw Scarlet on a roof. He got to his paws. After a moment or two, Dexter found his way up and sat beside Scarlet.

Dexter turned his gaze to the forest. "Whoa... I can see my old house from here!" He exclaimed happily.

"Yeah, I used to be a kittypet." Dexter meowed. His face then went from proud to frustrated. "I still have a scar on my neck from trying to get that stupid collar off, but I did it." He then seemed happy again.

"Do you know what life is like with the twolegs? You have no fun, you have to eat disgusting, hard pellets, and worst of all you never get to see this. The outside world." He explained, gesturing with his tail to the beautiful forest in front of them. "Here I can have fun, explore, whatever I wish. The thrill of hunt or battle, the smells of forest, a real family, you never get that with humans."

"Sure, but the Twolegs can't see me. Got it?" Dexter meowed. He was actually quite proud Scarlet was interested in his kittypet life, and he was almost looking forward to seeing his old home again. His eyes glowed slightly.

Dexter nodded. He made his way onto the ground, then headed at a faster pace to his old house.

Scarlet followed, she told her second-in-charge to watch the camp. She caught up to Dexter and walked beside him

Dexter soon came to the fence that surrounded the backyard. "Here it is." He leaped up onto the fence. "My twolegs aren't home." He said. "I don't have to stay hidden."

Scarlet, mischievous as a young apprentice now, had an idea. "I want to see what's on the inside" she meowed as she leaped off the fence. She landed on the twoleg yard and walked up to the twoleg den

Dexter walked to the edge of the hard, smelly black path in the front of the house. He looked up and down it. "Okay." He called to Scarlet afterwards. "Follow the tabby!" He trotted through the cat door and into the house.

Scarlet wanted to go alone, "Sorry Dex. I'm going in a different twoleg den." She went to the fence, leaped up, then down again to another twoleg yard. She saw a window party open and snuck inside. Scarlet sniffed, "Twolegs gone, no cats or dogs live here at all. Time to explore!" She meowed, and started to check out the place. She didn't know the danger she was in right now
