Shadow slowed her movements, making sure each step was silent. She couldn't be discovered, not yet.

Lud soon continued walking. 'I have to find Hayln,' he thought.

Shadow focused for a moment, then leaped, trying to pin Lud down. If she missed she had a spot picked out she would run to and resume hiding.

Lud was pinned down and he dropped the prey he was carrying. His eyes were wide and he yowled. "W-Who are you!?" He said.
Hayln heard the yowl. "Oh no." She muttered and disappeared.

"Stand up and follow me or you won't see the dawn of the next day." Shadow snapped. She stepped away, but her muscles were tense and she was prepared to spring.

Lud stood up and looked at Shadow. "W-What did I do?" He asked. Hayln was hiding in a bush, watching what was happening.

Shadow didn't answer. She glanced around. She felt like another cat was around. Cautiously she nudged Lud forward. "Come on..."

Hayln was silent as she moved. When she was close enough, she leaped and pinned down Shadow. "Get the prey and run!" She snapped. Lud obeyed, picked the prey up and ran, which he was good for. Hayln growled, "No one messes with my brother except me."

Shadow spat. "I knew it..." She squeezed skillfully out of Hayln's grip and lashed out with stained claws. Her fur was puffed out, making her look huge.

Hayln dodged her claws, then toke a couple of steps back. "Are you Shadow, by any chance?" She asked.

Shadow just cursed and leaped so she was behind Hayln, then started trying to drive her further into the territory, claws extended and flashing when they met sunlight.

Hayln dodged her claws and climbed a tree. She looked down. "Just answer the question please." She asked. "Are you Shadow, by any chance?"

Shadow twitched and crouched. She backed up, slinking into the shadows. Her form melted into the darkness.

There was no movement or sound giving away the black cat's position.

Lud quickly made it back home with the prey. "Lud, what's wrong? And where's Hayln?" Wolf asked. Lud dropped the prey, eyes wide. "You remember when you told us to watch the border?" Wolf nodded. "I accidentally walked over it. I got in trouble and then Hayln saved me. She's still back there!" Wolf widened her eyes, "Take the prey and stay in the den!" She said and ran off. Lud did as he was told, he knew Acis was hunting.
Hayln climbed higher and higher until she knew that nothing would be able to get her from behind. She made sure that no one got her from the sides, in front, or below.

Wolf looked around. "Hayln? Hayln!?" She called when she reached the area. Hayln sighed in relief as she climbed down, "Mom, I'm glad Lud is safe." Wolf nodded, "Yeah, but right now, stay by me." The two-she cats stood side by side, one looking one way, and one looking the opposite way.
