Abrevynen gulped and decided to keep an eye on her from a distance, just in case something bad happened,
ZIlius sat at a hand-fashioned table and spread a sheet of paper-like material over the surface. There was an incomplete design for a piece of clothing sketched onto it with a black pigment. Zilius looked it over, then picked up a wooden bowl containing more of the black liquid and dipped a small, firm piece of a reed into it. He pulled it out slowly and used it to continue his clear, detailed sketch, slowly changing it from a simple layout for a piece of clothing and into what would evidently be a piece of armour.

She continued her search, receiving a few more thorns in her pads and some making their way to her legs. "Maybe I should do a forest fire, that'd be easier..." Kowara mumbled, stumbling forward and looking through a bramble bush.

As his design grew more and more complex, Zilius pondered over what materials he'd need to realize it. Definitely some metals, which were a rarity, and difficult to harvest. The easiest way was to obtain them from a mythical beast that liked to hoard them, or even a beast made of such materials, but most of these creatures were dangerous.
Abrevynen kept careful watch over the agitated kitsune, hoping he wouldn't have to step in the way of her doing anything hazardous.
Somewhere in the trees, Kouhane was basking in the sun, and enjoying her tranquil surroundings.

After a moment, she just shrugged and summoned some fire. "Burning everything should reveal its location. I'm getting tired of looking."
Vezolth glared at Noir, who just stared back. "You done?" "You planned this." "I don't know what you're talking about."

Abrevynen spotted the fire and gasped. "Kowara, hey, hey! Don't do that!" he exclaimed, waving his paws around desperately. "That is not! A good! Idea!"

"And why not?" She growled, baring her fangs at him. "Find the orb now, or everything is turned to ashes. Or better yet, give me an explanation as to why everything shouldn't burn?"

"Because... Because... Because...!" Abrevynen spat uselessly, whiskers quivering. "Y-you just can't do something that awful, Kowara! B-besides, I might be able to find it! I mean, maybe! So, please?"

"How so?" Kowara's growls turned into snarls. Her markings glowed a bright crimson, her tails flared up in a similar fashion as a peacock's. A ring of fox fire spiraling and changing colors above her.

"W-well, I just thought, with my connection to your soul and all, I might be able to track it down with my senses," he answered. It wasn't entirely a lie. He could feel a faint tugging in his pelt in the direction of the orb's sneaky hiding place, though he wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. "So can you just trust me and let me give it a shot?"

(Didn't he hide it in Zilius's hut with Noir?)
"You decide to suggest this now? Why wait so long?" Kowara asked, the fox fire flaring more brightly. She felt something in her jaw pop, and the thorns in her paws and legs started to burn.

(Yes, but he's pretending he doesn't know where it is)
"I didn't notice it until now, and I was scared to say anything at all to you, I was!" Abrevynen answered in self-defence, putting some distance between them to be safe. "So, will you just trust me for now? No point is worrying about the sneaky little details as long as we find it, right? Right?"

(Ah, alright.)
The fox fire disappeared and her tails lowered. "I will. Now lead before I changed my mind." Kowara glared at him, looking around for a moment. The sooner she found it, the sooner she'd be able to close her den for the rest of her life.

Abrevynen ignored the voice in his brain that reminded him of the orb's location and instead focused on the little nagging in his pelt, following it steadily in the direction of the hunter's hut. When the hut came at last into view, a moment which Abrevynen had dreaded, he frowned and glanced back at Kowara. "I, uh... I think it's in there, Kowara."

"How...?" Kowara stayed where she was, confusion and something else replacing her anger. She would know when he'd be in her home, yet there was no trace. Her tails drooped, and she stayed rooted to her spot.

Abrevynen felt the anger drain from the Kitsune and he landed on the ground in front of her. "What are you going to do? I can go in and see if he's there or not, if you don't want to."

"Do what you want. I can't go in there," she muttered. Kowara laid down, staring at the hut.

Abrevynen sighed and flew over to the hut. "Um... Hunter?" he called. Zilius flinched and unintentionally scratched a dark line of ink into his page, blotting out a section of his sketch. He let out a long, deep sigh, then sat up straight. "Who's there?" "Just a little ferret," Abrevynen answered, creeping inside. "Um, there doesn't happen to be a weird orb in here, does there?" Zilius blinked. "Oh. Does that belong to you? It's over there." He pointed to where he was storing the orb. "Ah. Thank you!" Abrevynen exclaimed, fluttering over to a basket and peering inside. "It's too heavy for me, though..." Zilius was quiet, then sighed again. "Uh, I can carry it wherever you need to go, if you want." He picked it up and walked outside with it tucked against his chest.

Kowara laid her head on her paws, sighing and closing her eyes. She thought that this was a sick joke, wondering who took her orb in the first place.

Abrevynen instructed Zilius to wait a second, then he flew back over to Kowara. "What should I have him do with it?" he asked.

"Meet me up front. He'll want to know what it is sooner or later." Having her soul being held by another made it feel odd, and she shivered. She'll have to make a few new decisions when she got back home.
