The stand-ins hopped in and bowed low before Rose-Singer. Rose-Singer looked down at them with contempt, then smiled wryly and hopped into the air. Sharpened talons glinted in the sun and he grabbed one in each of his claws, choking them to death. When any hints of life were gone, he tossed them aside and landed on the ground again. "Thank you. You are ever the loyal bird I expect from you." He nodded to her, a pleased look on his face.

"I work for you only, and bringing filth like this was apart of it." Arethusa stared at the bodies for a moment, ignoring the bile that rose and fell in her throat. She was used to the sight, but not to the feeling.

"I'm happy to hear you say this," Rose-Singer hummed. "Anything else of note to report? If not, you're free to go." He was in a good mood now, evident by his looser speech and the content smile on his face.

"Nothing else to report for now. Good day, Aurestra Rose-Singer." She took off without another word.
Aarne was in his nest, checking his herb stores.

Kiyasa was flying around in a quiet area of the forest, practicing her old battle moves and refining some new techniques.

Arethusa flew into the forest, letting out the bile that had remained in her throat. "Why am I not used to this?" She coughed, shaking her head.

Kiyasa swooped down to the ground and picked up a large nut. She brought it up into the air with her and threw it up, then used it as a target and slashed at it as it fell back towards the ground. She lost her balance after a particularly rough bank and tumbled through the air, but recovered quickly and went to fetch her makeshift target.

She took off after a moment, starting the patrol she needed to do. Might as well get something done for today. The memories in her head wanted to disturb her, and she did her best to push them away.

Kiyasa managed to destroy her target until it was no longer usable, and then took a break by the river. She gazed into the water, wondering what her new accomplices were up to. Deciding it wouldn't hurt to check, she took wing and set off to find one of them.

Aarne decided to take a nap, sleeping happily.
Arethusa decided to take a detour, wondering if a little bird could help her with her troubles. Her mind had started sending gruesome images, and the bile was returning to her throat.

Kiyasa flapped through the trees, keeping as close to the leafy roof of the forest as she could without hitting a branch. As she flew, she spotted a familiar bird and smiled. "Hey, hey, Arethusa!" she called out, swooping down to greet the falcon. "Everything going well?"

"I just saw two birds choke death in front of me. Everything's peachy." She replied grimly, and sarcastically.

Kiyasa's lighthearted attitude vanished in an instant. "Oh, wow. Yeah, everything sounds golden on your end," she agreed, sighing. "I know how it feels. Can I help at all?"

"I'm going to see if that hummingbird has anything that'll help my stomach or mind, preferably both. I don't want bile to be coming out of my throat for the rest of the day." Arethusa landed on a branch, walking towards Aarne's nest and looking inside. "Ah... Maybe I should find someone else. He's asleep..." Aarne was still asleep, his feathers fluffed up as he dreamed.

Kiyasa landed next to Arethusa and peered inside. "Eh, so wake him up, who cares. A good sage doesn't sleep on the job and always has the time for a sickly warrior."

"He's an ex-sage, and I'm letting him sleep. There's going to be nights where he won't have time to sleep. Better enjoy it while it lasts," Arethusa murmured.

"Hm, fair enough," Kiyasa conceded with a shrug. "Where to next, then?"

"Dunno. Do you have a place?" Arethusa asked, tilting her head curiously.

"Well, if you still want some medicine or something, we can always go root out another sage," Kiyasa replied.

"No. I rather not go through an abundance of questions just for something to ease my stomach. I rather just talk so I'd get my mind of... Earlier." She shivered.
