"Depends-" Hawk sneezed as Scarlet smacked him with her tail. She smiled, chuckling as she picked up her share. "You may, and I suggest only eating one. These fur balls are fat enough to fill your stomach." She set her mouse down, sighing when she heard her name called. "Seems they came back. Give me a moment, I'll be back to tell more stories and info. Enjoy your prey." She padded to a hole in the back wall, disappearing as she went through. Sun and Dew ate together, Storm joined them after a few moments. Soul and Hawk sat together, and Oddkit took shared ate some of Soul's mouse.

The pair of apprentices sat together while Dawnscar sat with Icepetal. Burningsky sat off to the side, uninterested in involving herself further. Mintpaw was silent as she ate, while the warriors partook in their share of chit-chat.

Scarlet came back in after a few moments, settling down beside the prey she dropped before and digging in. Soul decided to break the silence, feeling uncomfortable with it. "Where's your brother, Scarlet? You two stayed beside one another, even back then." The she-cat swallowed a bite of mouse, sighing and letting her head drop a bit. "You knew him as Storm, but he was given the name Ember when he was born. He was killed about two dozen moons after you left this place last time. Ember and I lived peacefully with the others, and soon enough it was just the two of us. When I found a couple of abandoned kits, he helped me care for them. Seeing him die made something snap, but hey, it pushed me forward." "Scarlet... I-" "It's fine. You didn't know, and you would've been told eventually." Scarlet cut the tom off, resuming in eating the mouse in forced bites.

Burningsky snorted. "Silence is even more awkward now," she remarked under her breath before burying her muzzle in her food once again. Icepetal's gaze lingered on Scarlet. She could feel her maternal instincts kicking in, telling her to comfort the sad she-cat, but she pushed them away, figuring she likely didn't want the reassurance at that moment. Dawnscar just kept his head lowered. The apprentices didn't have the heart to contribute anything.

"So why are you here again? Finding a new home or something?" Scarlet said, pushing away her meal. "Same thing as last time." Hawk said, listening to Oddkit who tried her best to calm down Soul. "I know you said 'no' last time, but I'm coming with." Before the tom could retort, her gaze snapped to him. "I am tired, Hawk. Tired that all I can do is lay here and wait for death. But you know what? I may be old, but I have claws. I might know who you're looking for." She stood, glaring at Hawk as he stared at her. She didn't back down from his icey gaze. "You can come with us, don't make a fuss." Sun meowed. Hawk turned to the ginger she-cat, shaking his head before sighing. "Fine, come with us. You would be safer here." "Who said I want to be safe? I rather die as a warrior than of a cat who gave shelter to the heroes. I may be a loner, but I want to fight for your clans." Scarlet huffed, letting her hackles fall as she calmed down.

A grin appeared on Mintpaw's face. "Ooh, you're coming with us! Wow! That'll make it so much more fun! Will you tell us cool stories every night?" she asked, forgetting about her food in that moment. "You're so cool, it'll be fun to have you with us!" Hollowpaw regarded her. "If I had to describe the typical, naive young apprentice, you would be my example," he commented. "Naive? Uh, what's that word mean again?"

"If you're talking about the group from last time, Hawk, then maybe they're connected to the group by the mill." Dew tilted her head, and Scarlet continued. "A mill, they take cut-down trees there. The smell of sap and pine is evident, it won't be long travel. If we leave at dawn, we'll be there by sun-high." "Have you heard of anything about that group?" Storm asked. Scarlet thought for a moment, shaking her head. The collar swayed as she moved her head. "Not much, but they're a group that's growing. They haven't caused much trouble, but I've heard that their cats are fierce. The smell of carrion is evident on their pelts sometimes too. That's what I've heard from travelers."

Dawnscar sat up, pushing the remains of his meal aside. He listened closely, intrigued by the talk of a new group forming. Accounts shared by travelers could never be trusted completely, but if what Scarlet had heard was true, they could pose a threat.

"If we were to leave at dawn, then I suggest we leave in a few sunrises. To prepare what's to come," Hawk meowed, nodding to Sun and Dew who agreed with him. Scarlet shrugged, "Whatever keeps you content. I'll give you a tour of twolegplace too, so you don't get lost." She walked over to the stairs, going underneath them and pulling something out. "I know you all sleep on moss, but all I have are these clothes. You may sleep on the wooden floor, but these clothes will have to do."

"Clothes?" Hollowpaw asked. He crept over to the strange objects and sniffed them. At the twoleg scent that tickled his nose, he shied away, then shook his head and crept closer once again. "What are they?"

"Since twolegs don't have fur, they where these instead. They change their pelts everyday too, it's weird." Scarlet shrugged, padding over and sitting by Hollowpaw. "I found these upstairs in a box, they're pretty soft too. If it wasn't late, I'd help you get moss from the forest." Sun went to a pile and grabbed one, pulling it with her. "If I remember, last time we encountered rats and dogs started barking at us. Being out at night isn't the best here." She put it down, rubbing her nose with a paw.

"Hm..." He pulled one of the 'clothes' away from the pile and then wriggled his way inside. "I guess I can see how it might keep them warm, but changing their pelts everyday, that must be tiring!" he noted from inside. The smell still wasn't particularly appealing, so he didn't remain inside of his nest of cloth for very long. Mintpaw scampered over to take her pick, commenting something about weird twolegs under her breath. The warriors hesitated a bit more, but took their picks in the end.

The others took their pick, and Oddkit sat down on the pelt that Hawk pulled. The tom snorted, but kept pulling it and letting the kit ride along with it. Storm helped bundle the clothes together, sneezing at the smell once he was finished. "Tomorrow, once the tour is done, we'll get moss. I'm seeing that you all won't be comfortable with this for awhile," Scarlet purred. "Just be glad you're not eating kittypet food, as amusing that would be."

"Why, what's it taste like?" Mintpaw asked in reference to the kittypet food. "It's not like our food? Why can't they just eat mice like we do? This whole place is so weird." She rolled onto her back and pawed at a fly that came buzzing past. It tried to escape and she pushed herself up to catch it in her paws. Then she brought it down to her mouth and it met its demise in her jaws. She spit it out soon after, for it didn't taste pleasant.

"It looks like rabbit droppings and the taste is dull. Trying it was the worst decision I've ever done, but having what they cook for themselves is nice. Maybe the elderly twolegs will give some to me, having some cooked fish or chicken is pretty good." Oddkit bounced up to Scarlet, smiling brightly. "I can help you with that!" "No you won't," Hawk growled, snapping his gaze up to the ginger she-cat when she chuckled. "She can come with me. The kit needs to know the world she'll be living in. You lot can go moss hunting while I help your friends."

Mintpaw had adjusted easiest out of everyone to the odd twoleg pelts they were using as their nests, evident by the way she carelessly bundled up and sighed. "I can't wait for the tour..." Hollowpaw gazed up at the ceiling, thinking about what the inner depths of the twolegplace would be like. This was a grand learning experience and he was quite excited.

The five laid down in the makeshift nests. Oddkit was between Soul and Hawk, having already fallen asleep. Scarlet went to the entrance, laying down beside it to look outside.

(Sure, I'll start it.)
Scarlet sat on the roof of her abandoned home. The view of the twolegplace below and the rising sun made her remember some things. Happy or sad, she remembered most events that happened in her life. She stood, making her way down and through a window on the top floor. Seeing as she was already awake, she went downstairs to see if anyone else was up.

Hollowpaw was the earliest riser of the bunch. He had been awake for the past while, pondering this and that as he waited for everyone else. Dawnscar and Icepetal had also arisen, though not as early as Hollowpaw. Mintpaw was still happily dozing, while Burningsky merely pretended to sleep.
