Scarlet continued forward, stopping beside a white fence. Oddkit slid down, watching Scarlet leap onto the fence. "I'll be back in a moment," She said, disappearing as she leaped down to the other side.

Everyone sat down and watched as Scarlet vanished behind the fence. They waited patiently for her return, talking eagerly amongst themselves about what this kittypet might have in store for them.

Scarlet came back, a black Bengal tom following her. She sat down once she landed, turning to the kittypet. "This is Tuttle, met him when I was taking a walk. Tuttle, these are clan cats." The tom smiled, his blue and red stripped collar. His blue eyes were bright too. "It's nice to meet you all. Scarlet's told be a bit about clan cats, you're lifestyle's interesting!" "I told you what I was told, still wasn't much," She snorted, cuffing the young kittypet's ear. Oddkit stayed beside Scarlet, amused at the kittypet.

"Tuttle?" Hollowpaw echoed. "Huh. Odd name." "Wow!" Mintpaw pranced over to the kittypet and grinned. "Hello, kittypet! Um, I mean, Tuttle! Wow, your fur is so nice!" She sniffed the tom, intrigued by his unique, clean scent. "Hm, smells like twolegs..." "Mintpaw," Dawnscar scolded, causing the young apprentice to jump backward in surprise. "No need to invade anyone's space, now." Icepetal joined the circle and took a seat. "Pretty rowdy bunch, hm? I'm Icepetal. Here we have Dawnscar, Hollowpaw, Mintpaw, and Burningsky." She pointed to each cat in turn as she spoke their names. "Pleasure meeting you."

"Pleasure meeting all of you as well. It's rare to see clan cats travelling through," Tuttle wrapped his tail around his paws. He turned to Scarlet, who rolled her eyes and chuckled. "Tuttle is one of the more friendlier kittypets around here, as well as one of the smarter ones." "The others are territorial, rude fur-balls." He shook his head. "Anyway, I've been told that there may be questions about us kittypets? If there's any, fire away."

"Twolegs!" Mintpaw said before anyone else could even squeeze in a syllable. "Tell us about twolegs! What do they do? What are they like? Do they do scary things? Tell me everything!" Hollowpaw was put off by Mintpaw's energy, but his interests lay in similar areas. "Yes, could you tell us some things?"

"Twolegs? That's what you call them? Caretakers or No-furs are what we call them. Anyway," Tuttle thought for a moment. "Well, what they do is similar to what we do. Sleep, eat, clean, dress, cook, and work are the main things they do. They have jobs that they go to, and it's rare when they work at home. Each of them are different, they can look intimidating or innocent. They like companions, either another of their kinds or an animal, like a dog or cat. I think they get companions so they don't feel lonely. Scary thing? Sometimes, depending on what happens. I've seen them yell at one another and sometimes at us if we do something they don't like." Scarlet listened as she watched, making sure no one attacked or passed by. Oddkit listened as well, but found that Tuttle's pelt was interesting.

Mintpaw gasped. "They sound so weird! Living with them must be wild. They shout at you? Aw, that must be so scary!" "Yelling if the cats don't do something they like. How controlling," Hollowpaw commented. "But their minds are so much more complex than our own, so we can't really understand just why they do it. They seem to value companionship, which we can relate to. Hm..." Icepetal looked at Hollowpaw and chuckled. "So much going on in that young mind..." Then she looked at Tuttle. "I'm more curious about what you eat. Don't you ever get the urge to hunt? Have you ever hunted?"

"I've tried... But with the amount of loner's here, hunting is more of an opening for them to attack. So I stuck with the food my caretakers gave me. It's better than the dung looking food I've seen the others have, they give me chicken or fish. Sometimes rabbit or another kind of food, if the male caretaker come back from a good hunt." Tuttle turned to Mintpaw. "Well, I can understand why they yell at me for doing something wrong. Wouldn't you yell at someone if they stole or destroyed something of yours? It was when I was a kit too, so I had to learn. They do give me food and shelter, so I can't complain."

Mintpaw sighed. "I guess so..." Icepetal nodded. "Hm, I see. That doesn't sound bad at all, actually, compared to what I've heard about other kittypets' food." "Also, if I might ask," Hollowpaw spoke up again, "What is the purpose of the thing around your neck? I noticed Scarlet has one as well, but I didn't comment."

"Oh, the collar!" Tuttle rubbed it with a paw, receiving a jingle from the tags. "It's like a name and tells other caretakers who we live with. So if I get lost, a caretaker can look at my tags and call my caretakers. I find that some of the loners call it a sign of possession, but for kittypets it's a sign of love and family. They don't want to lose me, so I wear this. If I could, I'd get them to wear one too!" He snickered at the though, and Scarlet smiled. "For loner's that have collars, they try getting the collars off by using dog teeth, sharp bone, or trying some other way to take it off. You can see what I tried resorting to," Scarlet prodded her collar, careful not to cut her paw on a broken tooth.

"Hm, isn't it uncomfortable, though?" Mintpaw asked, studying the striped collar. "Having something like that hanging around your neck all the time... Ugh." She shivered and scratched her neck sub-consciously. "Must be itchy!" "Having the twolegs touch you must be equally uncomfortable," Dawnscar mentioned. "And I can't imagine what it's like to be cooped up in the same space your whole life."

"It's better than where I've come from, in all honesty," Tuttle scratched his side. "They let me roam around the house, and let me roam out here as long as it isn't night. It's better than what I've had before." Scarlet nodded, "I'll let him explain his past himself."

Mintpaw leaned forward. "Ohh, what was 'before?'" She asked, eyes wide. "Oh, I mean, if you don't mind talking about it." "And if not," Icepetal interjected, "please, feel free to ask us anything you like about clan cats."

"There are caretakers out there that are cruel, finding that we're only to be used. The ones who found me literally saved my life, for I was too young to hunt or eat anything solid. I'm just glad that they found me and gave me a home." He shook his head, his eyes brightening up. His ear flicked, but brightened up as he continued. "What is it like being a clan cat? I've heard that there's about five clans where you live."

Icepetal nodded. "Well, yes, there are five clans. We are each from separate clans ourselves. I am from Birchclan, Hollowpaw is from Oakclan, Mintpaw is from Willowclan, Burningsky is from Ashclan, and Dawnscar is from Cedarclan. Each clan is known for different things and we try our best to live in peace with each other, but a little skirmish here and there can't be helped." "A little skirmish here and there is what keeps the peace," Dawnscar argued. Then he looked at Tuttle and took over the explanation. "Clan life can be messy, but it's a fulfulling life to lead. You have to work to keep your clanmates, your family, safe and healthy. You have to hunt for the clan, patrol to make sure the borders are well defendes and the territory is free from dangers, and sometimes, we fight. It's a tough life, but one we're honoured to live." "Spoken like a true warrior," Icepetal hummed with a chuckle.

Tuttle nodded, thinking about another question. "There's roles as well, right?" He asked, remembering something he hear awhile ago. Scarlet listened, but zoned out and closed her eyes. She started to hum quietly after a bit. Oddkit didn't answer, since she's been living with Hawk, Soul, and the others.

"Yes," Icepetal said. "There is a role for every cat. The most important one is the leader. Self-explanatory, they lead the clan. Their deputy is second-in-charge and commands patrols. Then we have medicine cats, who treat injuries and sicknesses. Then there are the average warriors, who are just adult cats that have gone through training. That would be we three." She gestured to herself and the other two warriors. "These two, the apprentices, are still in training." She tapped Mintpaw and Hollowpaw each with her tail. "Then, we have queens, who are nursing she-cats, and their kits, who start training once they become six moons old."

Tuttle looked at his paws, somewhat hesitating. "That sounds very similar to the log cats." Scarlet snapped her attention to the kittypet. "Log cats?" "Those rogues and loners who live at the sawmill, they have ranks that sound very similar to the clan cats. Songbird, a passing she-cat, told me about them when I shared some food with her. She was leaving the twolegplace because of them."

"Log cats, can you tell us anything else about them?" Dawnscar asked, edging in closer. He was curious about this clan-like organization, and by the way everyone had their ears pricked, it was easy to see that they felt similarly.
