Minnowwillow looked at Scaleslash, "Scaleslash, when you get a wound, what do I use to make sure it doesn't get infected?" she asked. 'You know what I use Scaleslash, think carefully.' she thought. She glanced at the apprentice, 'I'm glad they're ok.' she thought

"Cobwebs, Scaleslash. Cobwebs." Minnowwillow meowed, wishing she could face plant the ground. She looked at her wound again, "Can you get marigold and cobwebs please? I'll tell you what to do next once you come back here with the marigold and cobwebs."

Scaleslash frowned, then nodded. "All right, be right back!" He knew what marigold and cobwebs were from the many times he got hurt and had them applied to his wounds. Scaleslash was a clumsy tom.

Minnowwillow didn't feel paralyzed, she stood up and hissed in pain. "Great Starclan that hurts." she mewed. She sat back down and talked to the two apprentices, she licked her wound clean while listening to them

Scaleslash came back soon. He had the marigold and cobweb. "Now what?" He asked.

"Chew the marigold into a pulp, but I can do that now." Minnowwillow said, licking her shoulder again

The medicine cat picked p the marigold and started chewing. When Minnowwillow finally made the marigold into the pulp, she spat out the pulp on her shoulder and rubbed it on the wound. She winced a little as it stung, 'Now I know how the warriors, deputy, and leader feel when I treat them.' she thought. When she was done with the pulp, she but the cobwebs on her wound. She stood up, wincing a little. "I might as well go back to camp. Sorry to disturb you three." she started walking back to camp. She was limping because of the wound, she was moving slowly too.

Scaleslash walked along beside Minnowwillow. He signalled to the apprentices to take the moss back. "Lean on me." He mewed.

Minnowwillow stood up and leaned on Scaleslash, she couldn't feel her leg still. "Alright." she muttered, and started limping

Scaleslash was grinning as he helped Minnowwillow back to camp. (I always loved the idea of a warrior being best friends with a medicine cat.  ) |
