"I have all the herbs I need, back to camp." Minnowwillow said, she picked up her herbs and walked back to camp. It was a sunny day, and she liked it this way. She disliked Leaf-Bare a lot, because of all the sickness, less food, and barely any herbs. "Why cant it be like this everyday?" she muttered, muffled by the herbs

Scaleslash was chasing a water vole around when he saw Minnowwillow. "Hi!" He called happily, bounding over to her and sitting in front of her.

Minnowwillow smiled, "Hello Scaleslash." she greeted. She looked behind him, put down the herbs, and leaped over Scaleslash. There was a slash of claws and an alarming hiss that was quickly killed. "These adders keep irritating me." she spat. She went back to her herbs, "Sorry about that. I keep seeing adders everywhere, except camp."

"Water adders, yes." Minnowwillow said, "Some live by the water, I don't know why. So I call them water adders."

"Oh, cool!" Scaleslash mewed, standing up. "Well, I suppose I shouldn't bother the medicine cat. Bye bye!" He said happily, and bounded off.

"Bye" Minnowwillow meowed, she chuckled. She picked up the herbs and went back to camp

Minnowwillow made it back to her den and she started sorting her herbs. "Great, tomorrow, I'll have to check on the catmint."

Scaleslash returned with his water vole and a few fish. "I found my vole." He mewed happily as he trotted into camp.

Minnowwillow glanced outside as she heard Scaleslash. "He sure is a funny warrior." she chuckled. She saw something shiny in her herb stores and picked it up with a claw. "An adder scale? An adder can't get in here. Must be part of a prophecy, or a scale from my paw fell into the herbs, or something." she muttered. She went back to sorting herbs

Scaleslash dropped his prey off and then asked for a job. He was asked to help the apprentices gather moss, which he didn't mind. As long as he could help out. So he left camp with two young cats on his tail.

She was done sorting herbs and decided to get something to eat. Minnowwillow saw a bright shiny scale this time. She picked up a trout and the scale and went to her den. As she ate, she observed the scale. "Why does it have a mark across it? Like a cut or slash." she realized something and toke out the adder scale. "You have got to be kidding me. Seriously?!" she finished the trout quickly, not wasting it, and ran out of her den. She couldn't find him in camp. "I hope I'm not to late." she whispered as she ran out of camp. She followed the scent trail of the three cats.

The three cats were sitting on the roots of a tree, collecting as much moss as they could hold. Once and a while Scaleslash would get off track and fool around, but the apprentices would set him straight.

Minnowwillow saw the three and saw something move in the bushes. "Move Scaleslash!" she yowled. Minnowwillow leaped, before the snake leaped. She closed her eyes and felt a sharp pain in her shoulder. She landed and imediatly fell down. She felt paralyzed, but not poisoned. 'It hurts a lot.' she thought. She felt the snake wrap around her and squeeze her, she started gasping for air.

Scaleslash's reaction was to shove the apprentices out of the way and climb up the tree. Then when he saw Minnowwillow being attacked by the snake, he jumped down and walked over to kill it.

Minnowwillow she felt the bite become harder and more painful. "Get it off!" she said, unable to move.

Scaleslash grabbed the snake's neck and slit it's throat. She dropped it after leaving his mark, and spat angrily. "Don't mess with my clan mates." He hissed.

Minnowwillow regained her breath, "Thanks Scaleslash. I'm glad that snake wasn't poisonous, but it paralyzed me." she glanced at her shoulder and saw it was bleeding heavily, even if the snake only pierced two holes into her shoulder. "That cant get infected." she muttered. 'If I die, Riverclan wont have a medicine cat. I don't have an apprentice.'

Scaleslash frowned. "What do I do?! You're the medicine cat so I can't go call them, and you're bleeding really badly, and..." He continued panicking, not used to the medicine cat being the one hurt.
