He watched her go, his whiskers quivering in hate of all the words he'd left unspoken as he was forbidden the ability to say them.

Jay kept walking, no matter how much her paws wanted to turn back.

His ears drooped slightly and he padded away. He was back to being alone. He knew he would be eventually, he had already decided that was how his life was meant to go, but as always, he was left feeling empty.

Her paws stopped moving and stayed that way. "Come on...move paws." She said to herself. Then she started crying, "I can't go. I hate this feeling.."

He came across a hole under a tree and squeezed into it. He curled up against the wall of the little cave and closed his eyes, staying awake.

She heard a growl and looked up, seeing a fox. She could tell it was hungry by seeing how thin it was. "Trying to get me when I'm weak huh? Bring it on." She said and leaped at the fox with a yowl.

His sharp ears heard the echoes of a yowl and, startled, he lifted his head and opened his eyes, tail fluffed up.

She fought the fox as hard as she could, but the fox was more of a challenge than she thought. With another yowl, she leaped and started slashing the foxes face, only to be thrown of and get tackled. Jay yowled and cried in pain as claws scratched her eyes.

He crept out if the hole and climbed a tree, investigating the sounds. When he saw the battle scene he took a sharp, surprised breath and briefly hesitated before leaping onto the fox's back.

The fox growled and tried to get Obscure off his back. Jay stumbled up and ran away blindly, she stopped when she tripped over a root.

He held on tight, digging his claws in until he felt blood on his paws.

The fox's growls turned into yelps as it still tried to get him off of its back.

He pulled himself forward and ripped into the fox's neck, trying desperately not to be flung off.

The fox yelped even louder and started running away, hoping Obscure would jump off.

As it started running he let go, bouncing away. He looked at his red paws and gagged in disgust, running to the nearest stream to wash them. Then he started searching for Jay.

Jay stood up, "I can't see anything!" She went to the tree by following the root she tripped on. She laid down beside the tree.

His keen nose picked up a familiar scent and he came across Jay. His eyes widened and he crouched in front of her, nudging her gently.

"Go away! Whoever you a-are.." She said, alarmed that Obscure was with her, even though she didn't know it was him.
