Ryan was sitting in a chair inside the large arcade. He wasn't playing anything. Instead, he seemed to be watching the other people play. After a few minutes, he got up and went downstairs to the second floor. One thing that made the arcade weird was that it was built down into the ground, instead of upwards to the clouds.
The boy took a seat on the second floor, and started scanning through the children and adults alike that were playing there. Then he shook his head and took the run-down elevator to the bottom floor. He seemed to be the only one that used the elevator. Maybe because of how poorly built it was. It wasn't the kind of big shiny silver elevator most places have. It was basically a red metal basket that was pulled up and pushed down using chains. It was really noisy. But the system was good. It knew where to go first and where to go last, and everything in between.
After an hour- or at least, what felt like an hour -of going to different floors and looking around, Ryan grumbled and went to the main floor again. He decided to take out his frustration. So he walked over to a boxing game. He didn't sit down and start playing, though. He pressed the button labelled 'Real Mode' four times. All it did was turn slightly better graphics on and off. The fourth time he held it down, whispered something, then disappeared into thin air. No one noticed.

Silvia was in a corner, drawing. She was by a game, she didn't play it, she just liked sitting there. "That guy has been here so many times, and yet he doesn't say a word or notices me. He always disappears too, I wonder where he goes." she muttered, still drawing. She didn't have a home, but she has a job and money to stay alive. She didn't do much after she works, she just sits in a corner and draws until its time to go.

Ryan came back a few minutes later, bored. He looked around again.
The arcade was like his home. He slept there and ate there, he even set up his own secret room that only he could access. The cleaners and the other people that looked after this place didn't seem to care. They didn't even realize that they didn't get enough money for how much food was taken from the vending machines, which was thanks to Ryan's hacking skills. Probably because of how much the thousands of games gave them. He did leave, of course. Sometimes he worked for some extra money. He had a just quit a job, actually. Other times he just walked around, enjoying the fresh air.
He sighed, and sat on the floor.

Ryan looked up. "Hm?" He mumbled, looking at Silvia. He looked surprised for a second, as if something had happened that couldn't be seen. "Just bored." He replied.

Ryan jumped a bit, as if he was startled by the question. He stood up, looking uncomfortable. This wasn't a secret he had planned on sharing. "Want me to show you?" He asked.

Silvia put her stuff down, stood up, and walked over to him. "Sure. I don't have anywhere to go."

"Sure." Ryan said. He walked over to the game. "This button here... It doesn't only make the graphics better for the price of an extra token." He said, pointing to the white one with the red letters.

She walked over. "Ok, I see. So after you put in the needed tokens, plus an extra. What do you do next?" she asked

"No need for any tokens." Ryan replied. "Now, this may sound silly, but..." He paused, looking around to make sure no one was listening or watching. "Press it four times, then whisper the name of the game. Oh, and don't freak out." He chuckled. "I'll be right behind you."

She did as she said, and almost flipped when she found herself in a different world. "W-Where are we?"

Soon, Ryan appeared beside her. "We are in the land of the game." He said. "Be careful. Pokemon are fiercer than the games make them seem." He laughed.
It seemed as though he had been here before. He had a bag over his shoulder that looked stuffed with items. He also had a belt on with shining red and white spheres hanging from it.

A black and brown Lugia landed in front of them and Silvia stepped back, a bit scarred. "Hello," the Lugia said, blinking.

"Hey Henkan." Ryan greeted the Lugia as if he was a good friend. "This is... Hey, I don't think I got your name." He realized as he turned to look at Silvia.

"I-It's Silvia." she said, relaxing a bit. Henkan smiled, "It's been awhile since anyone has played or visited this game. I was starting to get bored with all the adventures and battles you know." he said, flicking his tail.
