"Why do we have to wait so long?" Dust huffed.
"Because, if you didn't, you could be forced to fight soon after you could walk and talk. Imagine a few kittens who can barely meow up against two big adult cats. Paws are cats that are old enough to withstand at least a few swipes from the moment they get a mentor."
Dust fell quiet, nuzzling deeper into his mother's fur.
