You wake up. Your mind is a little foggy, and your head hurts. You glance at the sky. It appears to be night time. Then you notice another presence and your attention snaps to a pretty female standing near you. Her eyes are a striking, unnatural golden colour and her hair is white, bright and soft as a blanket of fresh snow. When you stir, she looks over and smiles. "Ah, you're awake."
"Who...? Where...?" You murmur, struggling into a sitting position. You then realize that you aren't human any more. You have the body of an animal. Your eyes widen as you inspect your new form. You look at her, confused, and ask her what's going on, a little panicked.
She chuckles. "Easy there. You're in Sivaas's realm, outside the school of Vuldindat. I'm the headmistress. My name is Kia. What's your name?"
You respond. She smiles.
"Well, welcome to the school. Come, you probably want an explanation." She helps you onto your feet and waits for you to adjust before walking up the steps of the building in front of you. You study the school. It is made of stone. There are fantastic carvings of animals on the walls. The ones that stick out most to you are two cold, grey owls perched on the front corners of the roof, each with one wing open as though they are pointing to each other, and two wolf statues sitting on either side of the door, as though guarding it. You also notice, on the very top of the roof, a large stone swan with it's wings spread wide. You marvel at the building for a few minutes before following Kia inside.
As you step into the building, you stop dead, amazed at what you see. You jump as a bat swoops from the roof and hits Kia in the chest. "Oh! I'm sorry!" The bat apologizes before flapping away. "Wait up, guys!" Cats chase each other through the halls, laughing and calling each other names. Snakes are taunting a scared looking mouse. The place is filled with animals. Talking animals. You look at Kia, not sure what to say.
She laughs at the look on your face. "Let's keep going. We have a lot to discuss."
She leads you around, explaining on the way. "So, you see, you were brought to a different dimension by a powerful being known as Sivaas the Beast. Only a lucky few are brought here. As you may have noticed in this realm you, and everyone around you, is an animal. You see, 23 years ago, there were a group of young orphans, three siblings, who loved animals. They all loved to pretend they were their favourite one, and loved to imagine what it would be like if they actually were that animal. Then, one night, they woke up to find themselves here, just as you did, all three in the form of an animal. A swan, a snow owl, and an arctic wolf. Except they had not been brought here on Sivaas's account, but of their own. Sivaas sensed the new presence in his world and tracked it down. When he found the kids, he was just as surprised and confused as they were. He decided he couldn't just leave them there, so he led them to his den. He told them who he was and where they were. Why they were here and how they'd gotten their he couldn't tell them though. He had no idea himself. He offered to take them back to their home but the kids didn't want to return. They didn't have a home. No one cared for them. Besides, this was their dream come true. Hearing this, Sivaas decided he would raise the kids as his own, giving them each a name that reflected their animal counterparts; Ahmokir, Hozii, and Kiagras.
"As they grew, Sivaas wondered if anyone else was born with the abilities of the Original Three, as we call them. The ability to travel to his realm and change between animal and human forms whilst there. So he took trips through the realms into your world, searching for people who had drops of beast blood in their veins. Not many, he discovered. But, every few months, he managed to scour out one or two. The Three found out about his travels and suggested he summon the kids to his realm. He was reluctant at first, but he agreed that anyone who shared the Three's powers, and thus his blood, deserved to learn about them, so on a certain day every four months, he gathered up the kids with the strongest powers and brought them through the dimensions. So they built this school, where they researched the realms and the ability of transformation and taught the kids that came here about their powers.
"There was a problem though. The kids couldn't stay in Sivaas's realm all the time. They had lives to live. They had parents who would worry about them. They had friends they would miss and who would miss them. They needed a way to balance life here and in the normal world. The Three had an idea. Perhaps they could transport the kids to the school during the time they normally had school? They could expand and teach not only things about their powers, but usual things, like maths. It took a while, but they managed to create a way to place a portal in the normal world that, when someone carrying beast blood walked through it, would transport them outside the school, also placing memories into the minds of surrounding individuals that will make them oblivious to the fact you aren't their. They placed these portals outside schools that the 'young beasts' went to, then placed a portal in the school that everyone leaves through. It will take you to the place you entered Sivaas's realm from the first time, meaning you'll be teleported to your bedroom most likely. And so, the school became how it is today." Kia finished her tale. "Now go do some exploring on your own before classes start!" She chuckled and turned into a magnificent white wolf, then ran off.
