We've all heard tales. The ones about majestic creatures, ranging from scaly fire-breathing lizards who rule the skies to men gaining fur and fangs under the light of the moon. They are stories to keep the children entertained, to encourage sparks of creativity, to make them go agape in awe or gasp in fear. Even the adults can take part in the fun of these wacky stories. But they know the truth. They're simply that-- stories. We would know if such dangers roamed the earth. How could they go unnoticed, through all our exploration, documentation, and technology?
Are we just trying to convince ourselves of something that isn't true?
Hidden away in the thick of a dense forest that remains untouched by humans is the land known to the more intelligent of its inhabitants as Graflu. Here, those fantasies aren't as fantastical. Here, legends come to life. Pixies and Pegai play in the sun. Dragons and demons fly wing to wing. A chimera snatches an Al-mi'raj in it's claws and settles down to eat. Wisps and wraiths float in and out of existence under the light of the moon.
Notes:
Apparently 'pegai' is the plural for pegasus. *Shrugs*
Graflu is a combination of the words 'grafu', meaning an expression of surprise, and 'lu', meaning magic.
Humanoid creatures are allowed, but are rather primitive in nature. For example, they don't dare disturb the state of the land. They don't have technology. Etc.
I don't mind if you bend the rules a bit and make a creature of your own. Have fun with it. As long as they aren't completely overpowered or something of the like. ('My creature is known as the Beast of Ultimate Death and kills everything around it just by existing' type of thing.)
I'm adding a section for love interests, though with the variety of possible species I doubt their will be an eligible pair. Creatures of similar species may become partners. For example, a phoenix and a thunderbird. Thanks to this chimeras can partner up with anything, as they're hybrids.

My characters:
Name: Zilius
Gender: Male
Species: A mix between a Skinwalker and a Wendigo. Certain things will trigger him to switch from the humanoid Skinwalker to the grotesque Wendigo, such as being angered. If he is killed he will be reborn permanently as a Wendigo. (Fun plot idea? >:3)
Appearance: He usually appears as a handsome young male (Human) with blue eyes and onyx black hair, though he hides his face under the skull of a deer. At night his eyes turn a bright, ethereal red colour, and glow faintly. The light seems to wisp around his face like smoke. This also occurs when someone tests his temper.
Personality: Usually calm and cool, but reserved. Prefers to avoid intelligent/speech-capable creatures. He does have a short temper though. His few words are brief and often brisk, even if he's around someone he likes.
Crush: Open
Other: A skinwalker is a person who can transform into a creature by wearing it's pelt. A wendigo is harder to explain... Here's an image.
Name: Abrevynen (The Y in the name creates a 'yuh' sound.)
Gender: Male
Species: This one is an oddity, and hard to explain. I guess it's something of my own creation. A bit of a hybrid. The closest thing I could compare it to is a familiar, a sometimes ghostly animal servant. I'll do my best to explain here:
It's basically an animal spirit, though at the same time it isn't. It isn't dead. It is capable of physical interaction, though can also phase out of reality and go through objects, turn invisible, things like that. It is always somewhat transparent, and occasionally takes on a blue tint. Like I said, hard to explain. The main thing about it is its ability to, how to put it... Take on a host, perhaps? It searches for a being it likes, is similar to, or feels drawn to in some way, and can fuse its mind with theirs. The two can not be separated from there, they are forever bonded. It's appearance can also change depending on it's partner. Should it have bonded with a bird, it could possibly sprout wings. Bonded with a lizard, it may grow scales. If you want a further explanation just ask.
Appearance: His base form is that of a winged ferret. His feathery wings and furry body are brown, except for his muzzle, which is black.
Personality: Playful, caring, but also sensitive and easily spooked. Quite childish. Especially timid at first because he spent a lot of time alone.
Crush: Open
Other: If you want one of your characters to be the one he joins with, let me know.
Name: Kouhane (Pronounced Koo-hahn-ay)
Gender: Female
Species: A byangoma, a bird that can tell the future. It is born blind. I'll reveal the rest in the RP. ;3
Appearance: Here are the two best pictures I could find:
Personality: Cryptic, fearless, and can be bold. Not afraid to snap or lash out if she's angered, though it's very hard to get on her bad side. It's very difficult to tell what she's feeling. She could act like she absolutely hates someone, but as I said before, it's hard to anger her that bad.

Now come, witness the beauty through your own eyes...
...Before it ceases to exist...
