"Hm?" She asked, looking back at him, blue head tilted.

"I don't like fighting very much, and I hate seeing others in pain. That's the reason why I became a Sage." He explained. "Then when 'he' became the leader, I was kicked out because they thought I wouldn't stay loyal to him."

"Ah," she murmured in understanding. "I don't like seeing others hurt, either. Unless, of course, they're someone who deserves the pain. Like that fool calling himself our leader. He's dirtying the Sigil just by being in it's presence." She spat, clearly angered by everything that was going on.

He flinched and looked down at the ground. "I know what you mean, but this all wouldn't have happened if we were strong enough."

She shook her head. "I don't know if I agree. We were strong enough. They didn't outmatch our power... They outwitted us." She frowned, gazing quietly at a leaf.

He hummed in response, looking around the area they were in.

She shook her head, straightening. "That aside! What were we discussing again?" He laughed dryly, shifting her wings.

(A plan to recruit more birds for the revolution)
"Recruiting others...?" He said.

"Ah!" She nodded. "Right. So, this will be difficult, because as soon as anyone sees the slightest hint of wavering loyalty everyone gets paranoid. We'll have to be very cautious in the first few birds we choose."

"Do you know a few that we can recruit?" He asked.

She thought. "I had some friends in the army that were kicked out, just like me. I imagine they'd hop on without a second thought."
(I got bored in school a few days ago and started writing a back story for Kiyasa, about when Rose-singer first took over)

"Lets go find them then," Aarne replied.

Kiyasa eagerly nodded. "Alright. I believe I recall where they live..." She took flight, flapping off back into the main area of the forest.

He followed behind, looking everywhere and making sure they didn't cross anyone that didn't want them here.

She paused, hovering outside a tree with many holes in it. Some birds preferred the shelter tree trunks provided over nests and tunnelled out their homes inside the wood. She thought for a moment, then flapped up to one of the openings, landing gently on the ledge, using her talons and digging them into the wood to keep herself balanced. "Hey, Vyaj! It's Kiyasa!" She called in. "You home, toothbeak?" A buzzard stepped up to the entrance, head inclined. "Oh, Kiyasa. You scared me," he grumbled, shaking his head. "It's been a while. Come inside." Then he noticed Aarne, and gestured for him to enter as well, flapping his wing towards the inner section of his home and sauntering away. Kiyasa hopped after him.

Aarne followed behind Kiyasa, landing in Vyaj's nest. He didn't know what to say, so he kept quiet.

"Well, what brings you two here? Wasn't expecting company of this sort," Vyaj explained, flexing his talons. "Been a while since we've spoken, Kiyasa," he added, looking thoughtful. Kiyasa's feathers ruffled slightly in her excitement. "Ah, we're lookin' for your help!" She answered excitedly, glancing briefly outside just to ensure no one was spying by chance. "You wanna tell him, Aarne?" Then she straightened. "Oh! And this is Vyaj, buddy of mine from the army. We were often in the same brigade or filed into the same squad, so we're well acquainted." Vyaj nodded. "Indeed."

"Pleased to meet you, and I'll just keep watch," Aarne turned to the entrance, looking around at the birds that flew by.

Kiyasa shrugged. "Suit yourself." Then she looked at Vyaj and explained the situation to her buzzard comrade, who listened thoughtfully, nodding along. "A rebellion..." he mumbled when she finished. "That's so like you, Kiyasa. Of course I'll help."
In the meantime, in another part of the forest, Rose-singer was supervising some training, watching with keen eyes, face hidden by the golden mask he constantly wore. The young birds he was watching were nervous in their movements, praying they wouldn't do something to anger the ever watchful bat hawk.

Aarne kept watching outside, before stepping back a bit. "The High Adviser is flying around.."
Arethusa flew around the main area, scanning the ground below her and the birds that flew around. Her eye caught a small bird, who she recognized as an ex-healer. A few thoughts entered her mind, when she figured out that he didn't belong there.
