Kiyasa, who was about to continue speaking, promptly shut her beak, her usually fiery eyes dimming. "Oi, you hear that, Vyaj?"
"Yes. Here, follow me. It isn't exactly uncommon that I have encounters with our dictators," the buzzard explained with a light shake of his head before glancing at the ceiling. There was a hole in the wood about two feet up, just big enough for Vyaj to squeeze out, meaning it would be plenty big for Kiyasa and Aarne. He took flight and flapped out of the hole. "Huh," Kiyasa mumbled. "Come on, let's follow him." she commented as she also started pumping her wings.

Aarne turned and shook his head, "I'm sure I was spotted. I'll come up with some kind of excuse. Just go!" When he turned back, he saw that Arethusa was flying towards him.

Kiyasa fluttered through the hole after Vyaj. It entered into a tunnel that seemed to wind endlessly through the tree's grand trunk, and separate tunnels branched off of it in every direction. Eventually Vyaj located the exit he was seeking and squeezed his large body through. "This way," he murmured as he clawed his way through the tunnel, feathers brushing the wooden walls. This tunnel opened out into another, much smaller chamber near the top of the trunk. There was a nest in the corner. It was closed on all sides. Or at least, it seemed that way. "If the high-advisor follows us," Vyaj said, "we escape through here." He hopped over to one side of the small area and moved the nest, revealing an exit. "Kiyasa, if you hear shuffling in the passage, alert us." "Aye!" Kiyasa chirped.

The falcon landed, her eyes locked on Aarne as he stepped back. "High-advisor, i-it's good to see you. How was your day?" He chirped. Arethusa ignored him and looked around, her eyes narrowed. Then her attention turned back to the hummingbird, and she lowered her head. "I don't know what you're planning." Her voice was a whisper as she spoke, and Aarne shook his head. In return, she held up a talon. Arethusa hesitated, then lowered it and continued. "Stream. Tonight. Dusk. Got that?" Aarne nodded quickly, relaxing a bit as her head rose. Arethusa looked around once more, before turning around. "I will leave you be, hummingbird. Nothing seems to be out of sorts here, carry on with whatever you're doing. Don't make me catch you again," She said out loud. With a nod to Aarne, she took off and flew away. He let himself fall back, breathing out happily.

Kiyasa stuck her head into the tunnel so that she could hear better. She heard Arethusa's voice and winced, but couldn't pick up on what she was saying. "I hope little healer is okay down there alone," she murmured. "He's small and smart. That is a brilliant combination. He will be okay," Vyaj reassured her.

Aarne rolled onto his stomach, standing up and shaking. His feathers ruffled and it took him a minute to speak. "S-she's gone! And I something to say!" He said.

Kiyasa heard Aarne's call and shot down the tunnel, back to where he was. "What is it?" She asked urgently, landing before him. Vyaj emerged a few moments later.

"Stream. Tonight. Dusk," Aarne huffed. He shook his body once more, turning his head and tending to his feathers.

Kiyasa's head tipped to the side. "Is something going to happen? Should I go there?" she asked, confused by the vague words that Aarne shared with her. "At dusk, hm?" Vyaj asked. "Rose-singer doesn't often patrol at dusk, at least. He seems to prefer to fly around later in the evening than that. Although, that would also give him an excuse to ambush you there on the off chance that this is a trap."

"Why would the high-advisor whisper it to me? She was hesitating too. I say we go," Aarne turned his head back to look at the two before him. "If Rose-singer wanted an ambush, he'd be here himself and I'd be dead already!"

Kiyasa looked at Vyaj, trying to determine his thoughts by studying his expression. "I agree," she decided. The buzzard nodded. "Yes, very well, you make a fair point. Let us see what she wants. Dusk, by the stream. I'll keep it in mind. Now, do you two need anything else? If not, I wish to go hunt." "Nah, that's all for me. I'm hungry too, actually," Kiyasa commented.

"All I need is flowers and bugs, so I'll meet you later tonight." Aarne turned around. He looked around, before taking off.

Kiyasa clicked her talons on the ground and then took flight, gliding off into the distance. Vyaj went in the opposite direction, vanishing into the trees.

Aarne found a caterpillar, picking it up with his beak and swallowing it before flying off.
(Time skip to dusk?)

(Sure)
Aarne was sitting next to the stream, keeping his eyes Arethusa who sat across the stream. He didn't say anything, and neither did she. Seeing Arethusa just sitting there with no movement and her just staring into the stream was unsettling, since the only sound was the current in front of him.

Kiyasa glided above the river. She enjoyed the chill of water droplets that strayed from the water and clung to her feathers. It relaxed her, and she quite needed a bit of calm. This was a bothersome event, the high-advisor suddenly calling a meeting. Her keen eyes noticed Aarne from a distance and she slowed down. She swooped in silently and landed beside him, drawing her wings in as she touched down. "Hello."

"Hello," Aarne replied, his eyes still on the falcon across the stream. "She's been here for awhile, here before I arrived. It's odd." Arethusa still didn't move or make a sound.

"Hasn't said anything?" Kiyasa asked, watching her out of the corner of her vision as she spoke with Aarne. It was odd, having Arethusa in such a close proximity when she was usually someone she wanted to keep the farthest distance possible from.

"Nothing." He saw he shuffle her feet, then watched her talons dig into the dirt. Aarne shook his head, sighing. "I find myself relating to the stream a lot, nowadays. Do you want to know why?" Arethusa asked, her gaze still locked onto the stream's current.
