"They started their group about, how do you say in your time... twenty moons ago. Their leader is a brown tom with black legs. His fur is long and it looks like he has a mane, so his bulky look makes him look intimidating. The cats that joined him liked his idea of a New Life. He apparently talked about clan cats, saying that they're a scourge to everyone good. So for them to live happily, they'd have to get rid of them." Scarlet growled, her claws unsheathing and digging into the dirt. "Why do I feel like I know this tom?" She hissed, and Tuttle shrugged, shuffling his paws.

The five clan cats grew noticeably uncomfortable, apart from Burningsky, who wasn't easily fazed even by such threatening knowledge. "A group who wants to get rid of clan cats?" Dawnscar muttered, ears flickering. "By Starclan, what could have caused any cat to hold such a grudge?"

"Someone who lived years ago, when Sun and the other four came to do the same thing?" Oddkit suggested, looking up at Scarlet when she growled again. "Possibly, there could have been kits during the time that happened. So the cat who leads them could have been one of those kits..." Her words faded until they were mutters under her breath. Tuttle shook his head, rising to his paws. "I hope the info I gave you all helps, and I hope you find victory at the end of your quest. My caretakers might be home now, so they might be worried. May the stars shine brightly on you all." The black Bengal turned, leaping onto the fence and disappearing to the other side.

As the Bengal kittypet vanished, the group gathered around Scarlet. "Can you give us any further information on this situation?" Dawnscar asked urgently, intent on finding out what exactly was going on. Seeing Scarlet agitated made the apprentices the most nervous out of everyone, and they flattened their ears.

"I cannot, but I remember about a moon ago, a group of cats asked if I'd like to join. I said no, and then they asked if they could hunt in my home. I said no again, and they asked once more, only forcefully. They attacked when I slashed their group's lead. The group would have killed me if it wasn't for my adopted kits coming to help me." Scarlet took a moment to calm down, sheathing her claws. Oddkit nuzzled the ginger cat's leg, and she replied by wrapping her tail around the kit.

"They sound horribly unreasonable," Icepetal noticed. "That's no good. We could have an awful uprising on our paws if their numbers are rising." Dawnscar nodded his agreement.

"I have one more place to go, but we can easily get lost on our way there if we don't stay together. Do you all want to head back, or come with me?" Scarlet asked, leaning down and letting Oddkit climb onto her back.

"Where is the place? What is the place?" Mintpaw asked. "I wanna go!" Dawnscar rolled his eyes. "Wait for her response before you decide that," he grumbled scoldingly.

"To get there, you have to get through a shadowed building. It's dark inside, and the only way to get to a group of cats I know. They'll give us more info about this New Life group. They know what happens here, who dies and who's born, they know. They're good cats, but have been on edge recently. As long as you're with me, you will be fine. The place is mingled with scents, so finding your way by scent is a no go, and sight doesn't help either. I know the path, so if you come with me, you can't get lost." Scarlet said, looking at Oddkit for a moment.

Mintpaw nodded. "I wanna go!" Dawnscar rolled his eyes, but he agreed. "Yes, I think this is a good opportunity. We'll tag along." The rest of the group nodded and spoke their agreements.

Scarlet nodded, turning and walking off. Oddkit laid on her back, watching the fences they passed and keeping her ears perked.

The group followed after her, keeping closely knit, apart from Burningsky, who lingered just a pace behind. They all looked around curiously with each passing structure.

Scarlet stopped, the entrance being slightly covered by a board. The building itself looked rotten, but still looked like it'll stay up. She took a moment, before going through the entrance and disappearing into the darkness. Oddkit wince, the scent of cats, dogs, and other unquestionable scents reached her nose. Scarlet waited for the others, used to the abundance of scents in the building. Her green eyes glowed slightly as she looked around, her ears perked.

Thrown off by the wave of strange scents, the group of five took their time entering the building. "What a strange place," Hollowpaw mumbled. "These smells are so strong. I feel like I can smell everything in the world all at once."

"No one's sure what this place used to be, but now it's a nightmare," Scarlet replied, keeping quiet so her voice wouldn't echo. "Again, stay together. I'm not sure what else lies here if you wander off." She went forward again, remembering the path that she needed to take.

Icepetal and Dawnscar herded the apprentices together and kept close, but as they wandered further in, the group became an unorganized mismatch. Too distracted by the dangerous atmosphere and the thick stench in the air, it was difficult for anyone to keep track of each other. Burningsky, however, did not seem as bothered by the tension. She was always detached from the group, though, so it was difficult to tell. At one point, absorbed in her own thoughts, she simply turned the wrong corner and wandered off down an unknown passage. Mintpaw noticed her slip away and blinked before creeping after her. "Burningsky, wait!" she called in a hushed voice. "You can't just wander off, we'll get lost!"

Scarlet didn't hear the two, and Oddkit had snuggled against the elder's shoulders. She continued moving without stopping, finding that staying in this place would drive her mad.
Two tom slunk through the area, patrolling up top. One spotted the group, whispering to the other when the two split off. They ran off, following the two that split off.

Mintpaw stuck close to Burningsky's side, feeling uncertainty creeping through her pelt like a swarm of small insects. "Hey, this doesn't feel very good," she said. "It doesn't, does it?" Burningsky asked, gazing around. "I wonder what will happen."

The two toms made their decent down, hearing a growl that made them speed up. The growling grew louder, finding Burningsky and Mintpaw easily. It's dark fur was matted, and it stayed where it was, fangs bared as it kept its eyes on the two. From what it looked like, it looked like a dog.

Burnungsky halted in her tracks at the appearance of a dark, rugged animal. The fur on the back of her neck lifted and she took a step backwards, bumping into Mintpaw. "Wh-what is it?" Mintpaw asked. She could hear the growling, but the warrior was obscuring her view. She peered around Burningsky and let out an involuntary yelp at the sight of the canine. "Oh no, I knew we shouldn't have trailed off," she murmured, legs beginning to quiver. "What do we do?!" "Just stay behind me for now, we'll stare it down until it makes a move," Burningsky instructed, planting her paws in a defensive stance.
