"If you tell your clans about your departure, they won't believe you," Briarthorn spoke next. "Dew had told her leader, at the time, about her departure, and they wouldn't let her go. She hesitated before leaving to join the other four. We'll be the ones to tell your leaders about your departure." Seedheart seemed hesitant at that statement, but said nothing.

Icepetal nodded. "Very well." And after no one else spoke up, she continued, "I think that's everything."

Ebonystar nodded, "Thank you all for being here." Ashpaw nodded, a faint smile on her face. "May Starclan, and the Five, guide your path."

The night of the full moon means peace, as it is a time for the five clans to join together on the Gathering Island and share news. The leaders stood at the base of the tree they usual speak. Apprentices boast to one another, warriors talk to each other about their own stories, and many more.
Off to the side of the island, where most had not ventures, laid an ash tree with three boulders around it. Five cats resided in the tree, at least four of them talked to each other quietly. One of them, was on watch.

As each clan filed onto the island, one of their members crept away to seek out the tree with the boulders they had been told about. Burningsky got there first, surprisingly, but she didn't get close to the tree, deciding she'd rather wait for the others to show up before dealing with the five cats they were to be meeting for the first time that night. Dawnscar appeared next, followed by Icepetal and Hollowpaw. Mintpaw was late, caught up in chatting with her friends from other clans, but she arrived eventually. Together, the group of cats, who still didn't really know each other at all, moved past the boulders and towards the ash tree.

The whispers in the tree faded as the five grew close, then a warning growl sounded from the lowest branch of the tree. For a few moments, nothing else sounded from the tree. Another growl came, only this time it was louder. A brown tom dropped down from the tree, his ice blue eyes seemed to glow in the night. "What do you clan cats want? Shouldn't you be among the others?" The tom's eyes were narrowed, and his claws unsheathed, then he recognized two of them. With a groan, he sheathed his claws and shook his head. "Apprentices! This is what happens when we allow one to share the news!" He sat down, and repeated his words. "What do you want with us? You don't have all night!"

Hollowpaw flinched and backed up a pace, quickly recognizing the angry male, and Icepetal touched his head with her tail to tell him it was alright. Mintpaw squeaked in surprise and exclaimed a quick, "Sorry!" Then Dawnscar stepped forward, taking initiative. "We were sent to this location by Starclan. We gathered there just last night and they told us we were to be sent on a mission. Something about stopping a storm, I believe?" He was calm, unfazed by this tom's harsh attitude - probably because he usually acted so hostile himself. "I know we don't have all night, and that's why we came quickly. So if you would, we'd like to know what's going on." From somewhere a few paces back, Burningsky laughed. "Now he's a fierce little birdbrain, isn't he? Guess you can't have brains and brawn."

"Watch your tongue shrew, I'm not afraid to tear another throat out for disrespect!" The tom snarled, his gaze landing back on Dawnscar. "Starclan has nothing to do-" A familiar black tom bounded down the tree, stopping short beside the tom. "Ashpaw sent you five! I was told last night about it. Please, come to the tree." He shoved the tom towards the tree, who growled a response before walking to the ash tree. "Mintpaw, Ashpaw said you called me weird. What's that about?" The tom asked, tilting his head as he looked at the apprentice.

Burningsky snorted and walked off towards the tree. Mintpaw laughed when the black tom appeared and sighed. "Heheh, I dunno, you just seem kinda weird," she answered as the others mumbled thanks and made their way towards the tree. "Oh hey, they're leaving without me, I better go!" She quickly took the chance and escaped the conversation by dashing back over to her clanmates as the group cautiously approached the ash tree, hoping they wouldn't be faced with any further hostilities.

Soul followed, watching as Hawk was being scolded by Sun. Storm and Dew climbed down the tree, muttering a few words to each other. "Sorry about that. Hawk doesn't do well with clan cats, he's used to killing traitors," Soul stopped beside Storm, turning his head to see the two cats had quieted down. Even if the two didn't live in Cedarclan or Oakclan anymore, they would always be rivals. "What does Starclan want you to come to us for?" Hawk said, laying down next to the tree.

Icepetal nodded to Soul. "It's okay, but I think he spooked the apprentices!" she exclaimed, recalling how startled the two of them had looked when Hawk appeared with his belligerent attitude. Looking over her shoulder, she continued, "The two of them seem to be fine now, though." Hollowpaw had a curious look in his eye, taking in the sight of the five legendary cats. Mintpaw was giggling about something or another. Then to Hawk, she explained, "Apparently the five of you are supposed to guide us somewhere. Starclan mentioned something about fighting off a storm. That was about all the information they had." Dawnscar nodded his agreement.

Storm shivered, "The storm is what they called it. It is much more than water and wind and thunder. It is hard to explain, but if I could describe it, it's something that even rivals with the Dark Forest. The storm resides far from here, but we saw that it grew closer with each passing day. Knowing that this has come up again, it may be larger than what we've encountered."
"If I remember right, the storm was a group of felines. It may not sound like a problem, but they're built strong, yet lean. Even if they are built that way, they don't care of territory or food. They kill for sport, hunt until nothing is left in their area, and know no common sense. They're hungry for anything and everything, as long as blood is involved," Sun continued, turning her head to see Hawk dig his claws into the ground. "We're lucky to have survived, if it hadn't been for... t-that isn't important now."

Everyone's expressions turned solemn as the cats told them the tale of 'the storm'. (Except for Burningsky, naturally, who was silently making fun of the clan cats from afar and only half paying attention.) Dawnscar flexed his paws, looking at the sky. "A clan of bloodthirsty cats rivalling the Dark Forest itself. Are they cannibals too?" he wondered with a not-really-amused sniff, unsheathing his claws. He seemed aggravated. He felt disgusted that such mindless creatures could really exist. Icepetal butted in, her tail waving. "And Starclan expects us to bring two apprentices with us? I don't understand what they're thinking, but I suppose we have no choice but to trust in them." Hollowpaw was keeping surprisingly calm, or perhaps it wasn't too surprising, his personality considered. "What else should we know? he asked, looking at nothing in particular while he spoke.

"They did attack each other, when one doubted one another. There was a few that ate other cats.." Sun felt disgusted as she said those words, letting Dew take over. "I don't understand why Starclan chose apprentices," she turned to Hawk as he sat up. His gaze was on Hollowpaw. "Hollowpaw has a head. He knows what's right and thinks, unlike a few felines I've seen.." he flicked his tail towards Burningsky at that remark. "I'm going to guess he's a strategist, since he found me with a body out in Oakclan territory. I've never been spotted in the middle of my work, and he cooperated with me until Sun butted in. I'm not sure about the other apprentice, but she might show her worth."

Burningsky turned her head to stick her tongue out. It showed she was listening, at the very least. Mintpaw started to feel a little outclassed by Hollowpaw and puffed out her chest. "I'll prove that I'm strong enough to come with you! I'm not just an apprentice, I'm almost a warrior!" Dawnscar didn't seem so sure. "Really? How many moons have you been training?" She hesitated. "Oh, uh." Without a response, she looked down at her paws, huffing. Icepetal smiled at her. "Don't worry. You look like a tough young she-cat. I'm sure you'll show us your strengths when the time comes."

"Mintpaw, you will show your strengths on this journey, as long as it doesn't require elder nests," Dew teased. "What about elder nests now?" Sun asked, but decided not to continue when Dew made a quieting motion towards her. "Anyway, if you're the ones we're leading, we'll leave in... say on the night of the half moon? Time to get ready? Will that work for you five?"

Mintpaw pouted at Dew. "Oh, don't bring that up! I told you, I didn't do it!" she whined, shaking her head. Although it pained him, Dawnscar ignored the misbehaved apprentice. "That should do fine for me. How about you all?" He turned his head to look at everyone. Icepetal and Hollowpaw nodded. Mintpaw gave an eager "You bet!", and Burningsky meowed, "It'd take a braindead frog less time than that to prepare..."

"Well we have to prepare as well shrew, unlike everyone, the five of us actually have continuous work!" Hawk hissed, raking the ground with his claws. Soul rested his tail on the aggravated tom before looking at the clan cats. "The Gathering is about to start, I can see the leaders climbing the tree. If any of you need questions answered, or anything from us, call us by the stream that separates the clans from the island. See you all at moon-high of the half moon!" With that said, his friends ran off, hiding in shrubs and bushes. Soul himself ran and hid in a lavender bush.

The five of them watched as the five of legend disappeared from sight. Dawnscar sighed, looking towards the gathering. "I suppose we will be parting ways for now as well. I'll see you all on the half-moon, or earlier than that should fate have it in store." He narrowed his eyes at Mintpaw and Burningsky. "You two, behave." Then he bounded off to join his clan. Burningsky sighed. "What a thorn he is. Well, whatever. See you guys, I guess." She left as well. Icepetal chuckled a little. "What an interesting group of cats I've found myself with." She looked at the two apprentices. "You two get back to your clanmates. I'll see you on the half moon." And she hopped off after the other warriors. Mintpaw puffed out a tired breath. "Why do cats always think I'm getting into mischief?" she asked in a sorrowful voice. "You seem to give off that sort of aura," Hollowpaw answered. "Anyway, we should get back to the Gathering." The two of them also left, rejoining their respective clanmates, and they settled in to listen to the leaders talk.
