"Good. My wounds feel a bit funny, which is odd. Is that good?"

Tarka tipped her head to the side. "Well, describe 'funny'."

"I'm not sure if I can describe them, if I'm being honest," Santolin said quietly.

"Well, then I'm not sure. It might be good, it might not be. Either way I'm fairly certain you'll be fine," she reassured him, nodding.

Tarka was feeling quite proud of her work. She didn't train to become a healer for nothing, she wanted to be one of the best there was, and her quick work of Santolin's wounds were a lovely show of skill.

Santolin went over to the mothers, looking at the young raptors and playing with them, careful not to reopen his wounds.

When their conversation came to an end they both watched Santolin and the young raptors. Aekan murmured something to Tarka, who snapped irritably at him in response.

Santolin excused himself from the young ones and talked with the mothers, happy to know that he was lifting their spirits somewhat.

"What do you mean, 'I can't go'? You're the one who want me to go in the first place!" Santolin snapped, somewhat agitated at his friend.
"What if something happens when you walk out of here? You almost died, you're the sanest raptor I know, besides my Beta. I can't lose you!" Avana said calmly.
"I won't be alone anymore, you know this. I know you don't want to lose me, I get it. If we can make everything right, we'll be able to work together and help this pack grow strong again. Avana, please," he nudged her before sitting down beside her.

"Hey Tarka," Aekan called as he saw the healer leave the healer's den. "Yes, Aekan?" she asked, walking over to him. "What do you think our pack-mates are up to right now?" "Fretting," Tarka answered simply, before walking away.

They talked for a few more minutes, before Santolin stood and left. "When do you two want to depart?" he asked Aekan and Tarka. Avana walked out a moment later, going to talk to her Beta.

They looked over at him. Tarka didn't answer. Aekan said, "Whenever you are ready, Santolin." Though it was evident by the was he couldn't seem to stand still that he was itching to get a move on as soon as possible.

"I'm ready whenever the two of you are, so now I guess," he shrugged.

Aekan nodded. "Alright. let's be going then." Tarka shook her head, moving to Santolin's side. "Hold on a moment. Are you sure you're prepared? Your wound still aren't completely healed, and we don't need them reopening."
