Heya! I’ve been complaining for a while about all these lovely characters I have that I can’t use, so to quench my desires and show them some love, I’m going to do a little character showcase. There are four particularly that I’m going to talk about in this post, two hybrids, and two mythical creatures. So, buckle in and get ready, I guess! c: Feel free to leave feedback of any sort~
First up...
Mirukha is one of my more interesting characters as far as looks go. She is a hybrid between a dragon and an elf, if that’s any indication. Her arms and legs are covered in tough, forest green scales, and her hands are tipped with ivory claws. Her feet are more like dragon paws than anything, and also have claws. It makes finding shoes hard, no doubt. She also has two midnight blue horns that grow straight backwards, curling up at the end. From that point on, her features are elven. The rest of her body is covered in fair, clean skin, and her ears are pointed. Her hair, which is orange-crimson like the colour of the sky at dawn, would fall to the bottom of her waist if she didn’t keep it in a ponytail like she does. Her eyes are reptilian and glow a strong yellow colour. She also has a swirly, smoky blue birthmark on her left side which represents her family line. Her body is that of a twenty year old, but thanks to the mix of both elven and draconian blood, her life can extend far past the range of a human’s. She is actually around a century in age.
She’s a harsh woman who doesn’t let the slightest hint of disobedience slide. She is deathly afraid of failure, especially if that failure leads to grief, so she has to ensure her every plan goes just as she wants. Thus, no one can step out of line. Unfortunately, she keeps these bossy tendencies even when she doesn’t need to. She isn’t a whiny type of bossy, though. She’s quite a stoic, tough woman, thus leading her to seem more frightening than annoying. Her sense of humour is also quite dull. She enjoys making fun of morbid things, though, such as if someone she didn’t like fell over and snapped their neck. Expect many macabre jokes.
She has an interest in metalworking and enjoys swordplay. Unsurprisingly, she isn’t very interested in men.
No sense in talking about one hybrid and not the other. Next up is Tydra, a feisty fusion between an imp and a catgirl. She’s a 16 year old princess, daughter to two highly esteemed royals as a display of union between their people. She’s a very petite girl, standing only a little under 5’2” and weighing a mere 109 pounds. She’s not very strong, but she is quite the acrobat. She has pale skin and long hair that’s mostly red. However, around where it ends, it softens into a gentle cherry blossom pink. The furry ears which sit atop her head are large and red, matching with her hair. And, just in front of those are two short, black, curved horns. Her eyes are round and pink, and she has the tail of an imp, thin and black with a puff of soft pink fur on the end. She also has a small pair of red demon wings. However, they’re far too small to actually fly with.
She isn’t very fond of the sophisticated princess life. She wants to be free, adventure, see the world through her own two eyes. She is quite accepting of the fact she could get hurt on the way, and looks at it like the perfect learning opportunity, as opposed to sitting inside and just reading about the things she’s missing. She doesn’t get upset easily and is quite bold, and likes to challenge both herself and the people around her. However, she can be a bit of a power freak, since somewhere in her mind she naturally considers herself to be the best person alive. She’s excitable and playful and generally entertaining to be around.
She dislikes tight or otherwise impractical clothing, like big frilly dresses or long skirts. She has a fear of fire and being disowned or disregarded by the people around her. She likes the cold and enjoys putting on acrobatic displays for anyone who will take the time to watch.
Okay, this is a long one, but bear with me because she’s quite cute. Our previous feature happened to remind me of small and innocent Mikaline Kuquas. She is only 4’11” and weighs an underwhelming 97 pounds. However, that’s only her human form. Her human form is not her primary form. In fact, she is actually a mythical being known as a Simurgh, which is basically a bird with the head of a dog and boasting feathers of a thousand colours. In that form, she is nothing short of a giant, standing 16’3” and weighing more than 3000 pounds! However, she isn’t often in that form, since she doesn’t find it as useful as her dainty human body. She looks quite young, but her soul has been around since the beginning of time.
Thanks to her strong connection with nature, her human body changes with the seasons. In the spring and summer, she has long hair that pools at her feet and contains a myriad of springtime colours such as greens and pinks and blues, and also some more vibrant reds and yellows, along with everything in between. Her eyes are also quite colourful, and seem to change with the weather. They’ll appear more dull on rainy days with much more greys and blues, but appear far more lively on sunny days with plenty of yellow and green. However, in the fall, these bright tones dull into more relaxed hues. Her hair becomes pale and adopts some earthen browns and blonds, along with the reds and oranges growing more apparent. Her eyes are often a much more fiery colour. And, in the winter, her colours are at their palest, and she acquires many white and silver tones before giving way to the spring’s blast of colour. She also has a pair of small, colourful wings that allow her to float for only a few second before failing to hold her weight any longer.
She’s a happy-go-lucky girl who is the definition of innocent. She is very smart and loves to engage in the arts, whether she be reading, writing, painting, drawing, or even perhaps singing or acting. However she can be rather forgetful, and is also known to be a little clumsy. She has a soft, forgiving spirit and loves everyone. She can’t even hate those who have harmed her severely, however she will be quite scared of them.
She dislikes cities, the dark, and sickness, and has a strong fear of snakes. She loves kids and also has a strong love of wildlife. She was actually borne from plants and thus, she will show signs of ill health unless she is in an area with plenty of flora and fauna.
She has the ability to communicate with both plants and animals and can create advanced herbal concoctions even if she has never made them before. She has almost complete control over nature, in fact, however her powers falter when she is in areas that are dry, dark, and void of many plants, and she’s known to take a large toll on her abilities in the fall and winter. These conditions may also cause her some health implications. She is also extremely flammable. (Don’t test it.)
Okay, finally done talking about cute little Mika (sorry about that), but I’m not quite done with the mythical shape-shifters. This one also might run long. Next up is Min, who I believe I’ve talked about before. They are an androgynous Qilin who looks about 17 or 18. They have a light, feminine frame and stand at about 5’8” in their human form and weigh 168 pounds. In their Qilin body, they are roughly eight feet tall and weigh around 600 pounds. They have long red hair that is quite fluffy and reaches a few inches past the shoulders, and they wear it so that it falls mostly along the right side of their face before reaching around to drape over their left shoulder. Their eyes are also red and are quite soft. In their Qilin body they are covered mostly in golden scales. They have a huge red mane that is almost lion-like and flows along their back and their forelegs. There are also big tufts of long red fur that hang from the backs of each of their legs and around their black hooves. They also have a wave of fur on their tail. They have long green whiskers, black, elk-like antlers, and small spikes along their spine.
They are a very gentle being. They speak in a musical voice that sounds neither particularly masculine nor feminine, and hardly ever go without a small smile, for they love the world they live in with all of their heart. They are soft-spoken and don’t talk much, and prefer the company of no one but theirself. However, they are very friendly and caring. It’s simply that they have a fragile soul, and with their powers, they can sense the burdens of the beings around them and don’t wish to be affected for the worse by making a friend, as they would be quickly affected by any darkness that person would carry in their soul. They are fairly forgiving no matter the crime, but they hate lies and liars with every fibre in their body and will quickly reject anyone who is dishonest with them. They are wise and thoughtful; a good person to go to for advice.
They love the forest and nature and dislike natural disasters and other catastrophes. They have the ability to tell when someone is lying or feels guilt. They can also sway a person’s luck for good or for worse, but rarely chooses to do so as it would affect the world’s natural balance. They can also summon golden objects out of thin air and thus often wears golden decorations or fiddles with coins and other treasures. They eat no meat and cannot tell a lie.
