"Alright! So, where to begin..." Jasmine thought. "Well, firstly, be careful! You're only beginners, and using magic puts quite large amounts of strain on your body and spirit. Use a spell too strong and you'll burn yourself up."

"Alright. Lexin, you'll pick it up as we go." She thought for a minute. "You need to learn to conjure the power. Sure, anyone can say the glyphs, but almost no one can wield their power. I'm not sure how to go about explaining this, as its different for everyone."

"Um... How to go about this..." She crossed her arms and thought. "Well, for example, I conjure the power from my pendant here, but can also draw it out from my heart, it just puts more strain on me. I don't really know how to explain it. What I do know is that your little charms probably won't help you out in this department. For a time, probably a long one, you'll have to take from your body's energy reserves. This isn't a bad thing, not many magicians can fashion charms to channel power through, it will just take time to build up your... Resistance, shall we say." She thought again. "Well, we may as well just give it a shot straight out. I'll lay a glyph down, and each of you can try and draw out your own powers." She turned her gaze to the grass in front of them. "Um, how about... Oh, you guys should learn the spell Ra used to allow Gupta to speak. Med-wah." As she spoke the word, the hieroglyphs wrote themselves into the grass, shining blue. "Who would like to go first? I'll cast I silence spell upon everyone except the spell caster so that we can see its effects."

"You'll pick English up just as these two will pick up Egyptian. Don't worry. Besides, once you learn the spell, you can just use it to translate yourself." She smiled. "So, would you like to give it a shot? She lifted her hand, her palm a pale blue, preparing to cast the silence spell.

"You know, I have an idea. Instead of trying it on your fellow students, let me summon a friend." She murmured something and a falcon appeared before them. She said something to it, and it nodded. It started cawing. She cast the silence spell and it tried to call but couldn't. Then she used the 'speak' spell, Med-Wah, and the bird started squawking again. It stopped after a few seconds and Jasmine nodded. "There. Now, who'd like to try?"

The falcon flapped its wings once, still no sound coming from its pointed beak.
"Don't just say the word, feel the meaning of the word, find the power in your spirit and draw it out." Jasmine said encouragingly.
