Abrevynen left the safety of the hut and hid outside so that he, too, could watch the hunter work.
Zilius, referring to the design every few moments, carved away at the bone until it was perfect. Satisfied, he set it aside and set about making a hilt from the wooden block.

Noir listened intently, watching him work happily. He looked at the bone, but didn't pick it up as he examined it.

The hilt took time to shape. It had an intricate design carved into it and Zilius didn't want to mess it up. He finished after a decent amount of time and took a few minutes to smooth out the curves and correct any minor flaws. Then he fit blade to handle, and his work was nearly complete. "What do you think?" he asked, showing the blade to Noir.

Noir looked it over, "The design is well made, and the blade itself is beautifully made. How long have you been crafting?" He kept his eyes on the blade.

"Years," Zilius answered. "Many years. This design isn't anything special compared to some I've done over the years, but each one is unique in its own." He tucked the blade away and sighed, lacking any further comments.

"It's way better than what that kitsune makes, resorting to her own magic instead of her own hands. Pretty sure her own paintings are the only thing that isn't made by magic." He couldn't help but snort at the items he saw in her home, finding a trace of magic on them. "Pretty sure I was made by magic instead of hand too."

"I admire magic users nonetheless," Zilius said, shrugging. "It takes a lot of energy and skill to use magic as masterfully as that kitsune does. It's something I've never been good at myself, except for the magic I was born with, my shapeshifting abilities."

"Not sure if she's using her magic to their full extent, she seems to be using very little. She seems depressed, and I know this because I felt a lot of it." He shrugged, trying to remember the kitsune. "Not sure what's on her mind."

"Depressed..." Zilius thought back on the kitsune and what he knew about her. "Odd. I wonder what could be bothering her." He didn't often encounter such feelings so he was uncertain what the possible causes and cures might be. "I suppose I'll wish for her to feel better in the coming days, and..." He nudged the blade of his newly creative dagger and gazed into the spot where the fire had once been burning. "If she needs anything, I am willing to assist her."

Noir nodded, but a question came to his head at the offer. "You seem more like the secluded type though, so why help a being you barely know? I'm sorry if my question bothers you, but I had to ask." He looked at the fire pit as well, somewhat glad that the heat from it didn't linger.

Zilius nodded his head. "No, I understand why you'd ask. I can't really explain why I wish to assist her. I simply feel that it's the right thing to do." He felt as though his mask was unbalanced and reached up to nudge the antlers and push the skull into place. "That's not wrong of me, is it?"

"I guess not," He hummed. "But to hear her asking for help is rare."

Zilius sighed. "I'm not surprised. I can relate to her in that way. I'm too stubborn to ask for help when I need it, myself. I consider myself above it, or something." He shrugged. "Either way, my offer stands. Does that make me a hypocrite? Yes, but I could care less. I've always been one." He picked up what remained of the wood he'd used for the hilt of his dagger and began to carve it into some unknown design. The carving was small, and so his movements were extra careful so that he wouldn't make a mistake.

"I'll tell her, though I doubt she'll listen. You can always visit though, if you'd like." Noir looked at what Zilius was carving, then at his own paws. "She doesn't get visitors, but I bet she'll welcome you. That kitsune needs something to happen in her life."

"Visit..." Zilius murmured. "I'm no good with such affairs. I don't see the purpose in going to someone unless there's a reason. If it's simply to socialize, well, I might as well be a fish floundering around on dry land in a scenario like that." His arms were tense, leading him to make a sharper cut than intended. He blinked. "Ah, whoops. Now this one's no good." He tossed the flawed carving into the fire pit. "Anyway, I think I've made my point."

"You have, so I won't talk about that subject anymore. I might as well head back though, so it was nice speaking with you." He stood, patting his legs to rid of any dirt that clung to them. "I'll be around, but just around the forest to explore. So, I bid you a good day." Noir walked off with that, saying no more.

Zilius watched the odd creature go, wondering about him as he vanished into the distance. The invisible ferret looked around, then decided there was no point in hanging now that Noir was on his way. Abrevynen took wing and made way for Kowara's den. Off in the woods somewhere, Kouhane was rambling to herself, as she often did.

Noir scanned the den as he entered, finding Vezolth asleep and Kowara mumbling to herself. The sound of metal clanging made his go to her, finding the different blades she had. "If you'd like to know, he'd assist you with anything." The kitsune didn't look at him, but he rolled his eyes at her answer. "If you'd stop being a depressed fur-ball, then maybe you would do something for once." That made her go silent, and he shrugged, going to a basket of fruit in search of something to eat.

Abrevynen made himself visible again as he fluttered inside and landed among Kowara's many tails. "That hunter, he certainly is interesting," he noted. "Has a lot to say, but doesn't say much of it."

He found a strawberry, eating the berry as cleanly as he could. "I'll agree with you there," Noir said from the basket. "He's skilled in crafting, but not with talking." He finished the berry in a few swift bites.
