Hawk nodded, "If you tell anyone, I'll be your mentor and you won't have a choice in the matter." He showed his fangs and unsheathed his claws. "You don't want a scary mentor, right? Your words, not mine!"
Soul chuckled at this, shoving Hawk to stop. "You wouldn't harm Mintpaw, Hawk, I know you!"
"You don't know me enough!" The black and white-masked tom laughed.

Mintpaw smiled. "You know, I don't think I'd mind it as much anymore if you were my mentor. So I'm gonna tell everyone!" She grinned, not quite as afraid of his sharp fangs and claws as she was before.

"I will hold you by your tail, over a Cliffside if you do!" Hawk spat, making Soul laugh harder.
"Please don't tell anyone. Cedarclan cats are prideful, even if they aren't really in that clan anymore," Soul said, calming down from his laughing fit.

Mintpaw waved her paw in the air. "Don't worry, I won't. I'm just joking. I promise!" She'd broken promises before, but she wasn't planning to break this one. Or at least, she'd try not to.

Hawk sighed, standing up. "You better keep the promise. Anyway, I think its time for us to part. Someone might be looking for you Mintpaw," he said.
Soul sniffed the lavender bush again, loving the scent. "That is true. It was nice talking to you again Mintpaw."

Mintpaw sighed. "yeah, I guess you're right. Okay. See you guys soon, then!" She dipped her head and waved her tail in farewell, smiling. Then she hopped away into the distance.

Soul lifted his tail and looked at Oddkit. "Hey there, Oddkit! Missed me did you? Well come here, let's go get some food." Soul let the kit hop onto his back, standing up carefully. As he walked, Hawk was beside him, sighing.
"I'm not sure if I can survive this," he said, having his ear cuffed by Soul's tail.
"You'll be fine! Oddkit will make sure of that, isn't that right?" Soul smiled as the kit mewed in agreement.

(Yay, I'm excited!)
The five chosen cats were sitting in a circle, chatting avidly. The half-moon hung bright above their heads. The aura surrounding them was one of excitement and anxiety. As eager as they were to be on their way, they couldn't shake the sense of fear in their pelts, knowing that the journey would not be an easy one.

A kit bounded out from a bush, their head held high. A calico pelt, different colored eyes, and a bob for a tail was what the kit looked like.
“State your business cats! Or else I’ll have to-”
“Oddkit! No, stop that!” Soul ran towards the kit, cutting her off as he sat down next to her and brought her close with his tail. Oddkit seemed to be amused by this, either by his reaction or by what she did, possibly both.
The other four walked out from the tree. Dew, Sun, and Storm were amused by her little outburst. Hawk was clearly embarrassed though, since he was looking towards the ground and his ears were back. Once he was by Soul, he glared at the kit, who only seemed to quiet down and smile up at him.
“How many times have we told you? Keep hidden around clan cats unless we tell you otherwise?” He scolded, watched as the kit jumped to him. Hawk cuffed her ears gently before looking back at the clan cats.
“We found her after the Gathering. Some cat didn’t want her, so we took care of her!” Soul explained quickly, hoping it wasn’t odd for the kit to be among them.
“We? You dragged me into it, Soul, but it has been interesting raising Oddkit.” When Hawk said her name, she jumped up and pawed the flash of grey on his chest. The brown tom simply rolled his eyes at the action, holding in a chuckle.
“These two are taking care of her, so she’ll have to come with us. If you have a problem with it, speak to Hawk and Soul about it,” Sun said. She looked at Dew, who hesitantly nodded. The white, grey-spotted she-cat was the one who brought lost kits back to their clan, but since she didn’t know the clan that Oddkit came from, she was reluctant to keeping the kit.
Storm gave a small hum that turned into a small, quiet tune, hoping to relax Dew.

(Aw, she's so cute~)
Dawnscar rolled his eyes and muttered something, while Icepetal beamed and approached the young kit. "Oh my, what a charming young she-cat we have here! So Oddkit is your name? I'm Icepetal. It's nice to meet you." Her maternal instincts kicked into full when she saw the kit and she did indeed plan to spoil it with affection whenever she got the chance.
Mintpaw broke into a full out grin, but she didn't dare say a word, recalling Hawk's death threat if she said something about his reputation. She settled with just giving him a mischievous look, eyes sparkling.
Hollowpaw sighed. "Taking a kit with us on such a dangerous trip, is it really a good idea?" he asked no one in particular.
Burningsky was silent, looking at the sky.

Oddkit smiled up to Icepetal. "It's nice to meet you as well! I can't wait to join you all on the journey," she mewed happily.
Hawk looked up, spotting Mintpaw's grin. He glared daggers at her.
Storm walked up to Hollowpaw, saying: "Remember when I said: 'expect this journey to be a bit of an oddity'? Well now you know what that actually means." He said, turning to look at the two toms.
Dew relaxed as she watched the scene before her, smiling.
"We don't have anyone else to take care of her, but she won't leave Soul or Hawk without a fight, literally," Sun said, somewhat amused at the scene before her.

Mintpaw snickered and looked away.
Hollowpaw looked at Storm. "I thought about a lot of possible surprises. This was not one of them."
Dawnscar watched on disapprovingly.

Oddkit nodded, looking up at Soul. "Soul took care of me since he found me after a Gathering, the same with Hawk!"
"I was dragged into it," Hawk grumbled, looking down as Oddkit pounced on hit paw.
"You love me and you know it!" She said, only to receive another grumble in return.
Storm shrugged, "It'll be something. We weren't expecting this either."
Sun walked forward, her head high. "As much as this is enlightening for some of you, we need to get a move on before the clans find us. We'll move until we reach the edge of Twoleg territory. Any questions?"
Hawk stood up, "We know that bringing a kit along isn't the brightest thing to do. Sadly, we aren't leaving her behind-" He waited until Oddkit ended her 'hey!' "We've taught her how to hide and stay quiet, and she knows what to expect on the journey. Overall, Soul and I will be the ones taking care of her. If you have any problems about it, speak up now."

Everyone looked at each other, and they silently agreed. Dawnscar was the one who spoke for the group. "We have no questions, and everyone is fine with the kit coming along." In a lower voice, he added, "as long as she behaves..."
Icepetal gave him a gentle cuff over the ear. "Don't worry, I'm sure she'll be fine! Anyway, we're all ready."
The other three nodded along. Mintpaw looked particularly excited, while the same could not be said for Hollowpaw, who never looked excited.

"I will, don't worry," Oddkit replied, standing beside Soul as he walked over to Hawk. Dew and Storm joined them. They looked at each other before nodding.
"Then our journey begins, let's move out," Sun said, flicking her tail as she started walking. The other four, plus a kit, followed her.

The five clan cats followed behind them. Mintpaw tried to talk to Hollowpaw but quickly remembered how boring he was and escaped the conversation, instead talking to Icepetal. Dawnscar led the group in silence. Burningsky was chuckling about something or other, but she shook it off and faced the road ahead with an unreadable expression. Hollowpaw was thinking about who knew what.

Time passed and soon enough the sun lit the sky as the cats traveled through a field. Oddkit had gotten onto Soul's shoulders and had fallen asleep. Sun was talking to Dew quietly, while Storm was humming a small tune. Soul and Hawk where chatting quietly.

Dawnscar was now the one talking to Icepetal as they exchanged talk of their clans. Mintpaw and Burningsky were talking about fun gossip they hear around the camp in each of their clans. Meanwhile, Hollowpaw was off in his own world, and only an occasional nudge from Mintpaw kept him going in the right direction.
