Hawk walked away, dragging the corpse behind him. He reappeared a few moments later. "I checked the den the adder was from, luckily, it's just the one. So come on down."

Mintpaw climbed back down the tree and set her paws on the ground with a sigh. "That was scary! Do all adders just pop out of no where like that?" she wondered, hoping they didn't see any more of them on their journey.

"They strike silently, and stay quiet. We might meet a couple more, but it's unlikely," Hawk said, cleaning his fangs and spitting out the blood. "Let's head back and report with what we found, as well as eat. I'm pretty sure you're hungry as well?"

"I'm starving!" Mintpaw confirmed, licking her lips. "I hope the hunting patrol brought back some good stuff!" She started leading the way back, looking forward to sink her teeth into a nice meal and then rest her tired paws after the long day of travel.

Mintpaw wasn't sure if the thought of training made her more or less excited. She nodded as they approached where the other cats were, able to smell the prey already. "Okay, got it."

Sun looked up as Hawk and Mintpaw returned.
"Report?"
"One adder, took care of it quickly and made sure it was the only one," Hawk replied, picking up a shrew as he laid down next to Soul. He ate peacefully, then watched as a moss ball rolled into his view. When Oddkit ran in front of him, he placed a paw onto her. "Not while everyone is eating."

Mintpaw snatched a bird from the small pile and joined Hollowpaw to ask him how his patrol was like, and the two of them exchanged stories.

Icepetal joined the apprentices and Burningsky followed, while Dawnscar preferred to be away from their antics and kept his distance.

Hawk was going to stand up when Oddkit jumped up and grabbed his ear again. "O-Oddkit, let go!" When he received a negative response, he growled out and hissed as Dew and Soul started laughing.

Mintpaw looked over and started giggling, and everyone else shortly followed. Even Dawnscar cracked a wry smile and Hollowpaw offered a small chuckle before drifting back into the tides of his mind.

Once Oddkit had let go, she started running as Hawk chased after her. Soul watched the two cats run, and nodded to Dew happily when he nudged him.

Hawk walked back, carrying Oddkit by her scruff and setting her down on Soul. He grumbled in annoyance and laid down.

Burningsky was the first to depart and she curled up under a nearby tree, closing her eyes.
Mintpaw tried to talk to Hollowpaw, but he ignored her completely, staring directly at her with a blank look in his eyes as he thought about what it would be like it trees spoke. She sighed and went back to talking to Icepetal.
Dawnscar simply listened and watched.

With a stretch of his legs, Hawk stood up moments later. "I think it's time some training should commence, without a kit being attached to my ear," he spoke, watching as Oddkit stuck her tongue out at him. "Mintpaw, are you ready? Hollowpaw?"
"He needs to rest, he landed on his paw wrong when we met with some raccoon, but it is his decision," Sun said calmly. She looked at the apprentice for a moment before looking at Hawk.
Soul turned his head to look at Oddkit, watching as she went down and laid between his paws. "It's a good time too do so, before it gets too late."
"Just don't stray to close to the Thunderpath," Storm added.

Hollowpaw heard Sun speak and turned to look at her. "It all depends on what you plan to teach me today, truthfully."
Mintpaw, on the other hand, immediately bounced to her feet and dashed to Hawk's side. "I'm ready, ready, ready! Let's go!"

"Battle techniques, you'll need them depending on what we meet," Hawk responded, cuffing Mintpaw's ears. "You won't be bouncing once we're done for today."
Sun nodded, "You also have to decide on your mentor, or have a temporary one."

Hollowpaw let his head rest on the ground. "In that case, I believe it would be wise to wait for my paw to heal."
Mintpaw grumbled when she was cuffed. "Oh, fine, whatever you say," she mewed.
