"Then we wish you all well, we'll take our leave," Avana's Beta said, turning around and leading his pack back to the dark woods. Avana smiled happily, stumbling and being caught by her pack-mates. Viridian turned to Quetzal, saying farewell to him before leading her pack back home.

Aekan and Tarka bid a heartfelt farewell to the raptors they had worked with during the battle and then followed Viridian back to their home, meeting up with each other and sharing excited and relieved murmurs. Finally, the battle was over. Though, both of them did have something on their mind, but they didn't show it.

Viridian hummed happily, going straight to her den despite the wounds her pelt held. She collapsed on it, happy to be relaxed for once.

Aekan let Tarka take care of his wounds and then he joined the others in celebrating while Tarka just went to her nest to get some well-needed rest.

Viridian dozed off, only to wake up in the morning to feel her pelt burning. She muttered to herself how she should go to the river to rid the bloodstains.

Aekan woke up with sore muscles but a feeling of pride in his chest. He got up to stretch his tense body and then he left his nest, looking around camp to see what all was going on. Tarka had gone out early that day to replace the herbs that had been used up in the battle. Her paws were quite full, and she was carrying a bunch in her jaws as well. She quickly went to the healer's den to drop them all off.

Viridian stood, hissing at her sore limbs and burning wounds. She hesitated before exiting the den, leaving the base in a hurry. Santolin watched the pack as Avana rested in her den, he helped the Beta with watching and training the young raptors.

Tarka saw Viridian as she was leaving and hissed disapprovingly, setting her herbs down and yelling, "Don't you leave without me tending to those wounds!" However, it looked as though she was a little late. She shook his head in annoyance and continued on her way to the den, dropping everything inside.

Viridian picked up her pace, quickly getting to a river and stepping in. She hissed as water washed over her wounds. "Tarka's going to kill me..." she mumbled, deciding to swim in the rushing water.

After quickly sorting the herbs, Tarka went to find Aekan. "Um. Aekan?" she said hesitantly, head inclined. "Yes, Tarka?" he asked, looking over at her. He wondered what she wanted from him. "Do you think you could come with me? I want to find Viridian, and I don't like leaving camp alone." she explained, looking at the base entrance. Aekan sighed. "Eh... I don't want to." "Oh, come on. Please?" Tarka said, tail swishing left and right.

Viridian looked up when a shadow covered her, giving a questioning look to the raptor that appeared. "Santolin, what are you doing here?" She asked, staying in the water as said raptor laid down. "Avana wants to give her thanks. She would do it herself, but she's resting and can't leave. Healer's orders. Speaking of, shouldn't you see one?" "Don't talk about my wounds, I've already been yelled at." She rolled her eyes as the furred raptor chuckled, then the two started chatting.

After some more begging on Tarka's part, Aekan finally agreed to tag along. "Oh, fine," he grumbled, getting to his feet and leading the way out of the base. The two looked around the territory, finding her scent to be strongest near the river. They walked along the river bank to see if they could find her. They heard talking in the distance and looked up.

The two ended their conversation, Santolin walking back home minutes after. Viridian continued to swim in the river.

Tarka spotted Viridian and sprinted over. "You, you, you! You're in trouble!" She said like a mother scolding her child. "Let me see that pelt of yours, Viridian."

Viridian looked up, sighing. "I wanted you to check on everyone else last night, and I was too tired to stay awake to be checked." She got out of the lake with grunt. "You missed company, by the way."

"Mhm, mhm, mhm," Tarka said, nodding along. "Whatever your excuses, you still shouldn't have left without coming to see me first." Aekan caught up in time to hear the remark about 'company' and asked, "Hm? What'd we miss?"

"You missed Santolin, he delivered a message from Avana to me. The two are well, a tad tired with the new work, but well. He says he's taking healer lessons, but isn't sure if that'll be his main role." Viridan stretched her limbs, keeping in a hiss of pain.

"Santolin?" Tarka asked. Her interest had been caught by the sound of his name. "We missed him?" She sighed and gazed down at her forearms. "That is a shame. I hope we will get the chance to speak with him again soon. I could teach him plenty about healing. Either way, it is nice to know that he's well." Then she shook her head. "Anyway, I have work to be doing. You, Viridian, must be treated this instant. Aekan!" Aekan looked up. "What?" "Run back to camp and fetch me the bag sitting in the back of my den." Aekan snorted and looked as though he might have argued, but he ran off to do as he was told.

"You'll see him again, and can visit them whenever you want. They're an official pack now." Viridian watched Aekan go, keeping her maw closed so she wouldn't laugh. "Why couldn't we have walked back, despite how amusing it was to see him follow an order."

"We could have all gone back, but I wanted to boss him around," Tarka admitted quietly. "That, and you should not be moving anywhere in your condition, either way!" She then took a seat and waited for Aekan to show up. He arrived after a few minutes, carrying the items Tarka had requested. "Take 'em, healer," he grumbled, nudging the bag towards her. She opened it and began to apply medicines.
