"And I hope, if we're successful, I want to create a treaty with them. To stop this nonsense," Avana said. "I've talked with the Mothers, Healers, and my Beta here. They all agree as well. We could have to decide on borders and hunting grounds, but," she sighed. "I just want peace. Peace that should have started at the beginning."

Tarka nodded. "We heard about that from Santolin as well. What happened was awful. This fighting is nonsense." Aekan seemed surprised by Avana's words. "I find all of this odd coming from the leader of the merciless Starved."

"I had no choice to lead these raptors!" She snapped, her grey and brown fur standing up with her fin. "These raptors were pushed away because they were different, they had no hope of survival! They believed that they were a mistake, that they had nothing to live for! I made sure that they had hope, to know that even know they were rejected, that they were strong and they were in a better place. This forest only hold vermin and birds, unlike how you all have large animals to feed off of. Do you think we like it here!? There's only enough food for us to have one prey once a day. We hate it here, but I make sure that they strive and have hope. We aren't merciless, those raptors I used to call my own are merciless. They aren't the Starved, they're killers!" Avana snarled at Aekan, clearly not happy to hear his words.
"So don't even talk to my pack- my family-like that."

Tarka's sensitive nerves led her to jump in surprise and instinctively flee the den when Avana snapped, but then she remembered how uncomfortable it was outside then den and found herself cowering at the entrance, unwilling to go back inside but too scared to run further into the camp.
Aekan sighed, shaking his head, wondering why he had such a knack for setting people off. "Oh, the things you can do with only a word," he mumbled, before lifting his voice and stating, "I can't help that I've been brought up to view the Starved that way. Having your beliefs trampled and rebuilt so suddenly takes some time to adjust to. Can you accept that much?"

"I guess I can. Now I know what else to talk about when I see Viridian and Quetzal," Avana replied, her fur laying down and her fin folding a little bit. "Tarka, you may come back in. Please, excuse my outburst."

Tarka crept back into the den, cautiously. Aekan moved to stretch and it scared her back out for a few moments, but she quickly came back around and walked in, sitting down. "That's okay," she said. "Is there anything else we should discuss?"

"There is one other-" Avana looked up as her Beta poked his head in.
"Excuse me for intruding, Alpha Avana, but Santolin is here." Avana wasted no time as she ran out, her Beta watching as she ran over to her wounded friend. From the wounds he had, along with how heavy he was bleeding, he ran into more trouble on the way here.
"Healers! Tend to his wounds, please!" She helped drag the black furred raptor into the Healer's den. Santolin's breathing was shallow and his eyes were closed, his blood stained his pelt.

Tarka lifted her head and jumped to the call. "Let me help. I'm also a healer," she requested, following them into the healer's den. She was already digging through her bag of supplies so it didn't seem like she was taking no for an answer. Aekan watched from the den entrance, frowning. He thought it would have been a bad idea to leave Santolin there to fend for himself. He hoped the furred raptor would be alright. He didn't want to get in the way so he stayed by Avana's den, watching as they dragged him off.

The Healers looked at each other before letting Tarka help them, since they weren't used to another Healer helping them.
Avana hung her head and sighed. "He's the one that's suppose to go back with you and arrange everything. I never wanted him to be caught in the fire.."

Tarka dug into her herbs and laid everything out she needed. In no more than ten seconds, she was prepared. She began to apply bandages and put infection-warding plant combinations into the wounds, using her jumpy state to her advantage as she bounced around the den. Her heart was beating fast and her tail quivered, and yet she managed to be so focused on her task, ordering around the other healers without really thinking about it.

The other two healers followed her directions, amazed at her skills and the way she used her herbs.
"This fire keeps growing. I just want my family safe, I want everyone safe." Avana turned to her Beta, who rested his head on her shoulder, hoping he would comfort her.

Soon Tarka had about finished and she sighed, spinning around and walking out of the den. "That's all we can do. I think he should be okay, but the rest is up to fate in the end." She sat down, tired out. That had been the hardest she had worked in ages. Aekan continued to watch in silence.

"Thank you Tarka, I'm thankful, really," she sighed as she leaned against her Beta for support. "Rest for now, and keep me up for updates. I...I need a moment." Avana walked back to her den without another word.

"It isn't a problem. I'm concerned as well," she said. "You too shouldn't be very hard on yourself, okay? Doctor's orders." She watched Avana walk away. Then she laid her head on the ground and huffed, her tired muscles relaxing for the first time that day.

(I've decided, that on page 10, we can have Dinosaur Hybrids like the Indominus.)
She laid down in her den and sighed, eventually dozing off.

(Ooh, looking forward to that~)
Aekan didn't know what to do, so he sat next to Tarka, who was half-asleep but couldn't quite manage to completely drift off.

Hours passed as the cavern calmed, the healers checking on the mothers and their children. A groan emanated from the healers den, signaling that Santolin was awake.

The groan from the Healer's Den awoke Tarka and she got to her feet, plodding in to check on him. "Santolin, how are you?" she asked, checking him over to ensure she hadn't missed any wounds when she was patching him up.

"Terrible, where am I?" He didn't register who he was talking to. Santolin only knew the pain that seared through him. "And why do I feel like I'm on fire?"

"You're in the Starved camp. You're heavily wounded so don't move," Tarka answered. She had dealt with patients before who were too overcome by pain to comprehend their surroundings and the situation so this was nothing new to her. "Just stay here, stay still, and rest. I don't want to be reapplying all of those medications again..."
