L laid on his back, his torso covered in bandages. He slept quietly and peacefully, an arm on his chest as he rested. His hand kept twitching as he dreamed, along with some mutters. L rolled onto his side and clung to the pillow with a sigh.

When May saw that he was peacefully asleep, she left him be and went to go find Crimson. She peeked into the bat room, cautiously, and called in, "Hey, I wanna settle into my room. Can you show me to it?"

"S-Sure, just give me a moment please. Get off you, you won't, fine." He walked out of the room, with a fruit bat on his shoulder, nuzzling his cheek. "Don't mind this fruitcake here, she's attached to me. Literally and figuratively," Crimson chuckled before shaking his head. "Come along now." He went upstairs, muttering to the bat on his shoulder.

May smiled at the sight of the bat. "Aw, she's so cute." She had seen bats up close before, but none of them were much more than wild animals, quite unlike this fruit bat before her. She followed after Crimson as he made his way back up the stairs, finding herself eager to sink into bed. It had been an eventful day.

He stopped beside a door, opening it and standing back. "Here's your room, there's a bathroom joined to it, so I hope you're-" Crimson spun around as he heard hacking. He turned back to May with a frown. "E-excuse me." He ran to the other guest bedroom. The sudden action made the fruit bat fly up and land on May's shoulder, tilting her head in confusion.

May's head was also tilted in confusion, wondering what had happened. She looked over at the fruit bad who was now perched on her shoulder. "Do you think I should check it out?" she asked the bat. "Ah, I'm going to anyway. Come on, fruity, let's see what's up." She quietly followed the path Crimson had taken to the other bedroom and peeked inside, keeping hidden.

L was hacking blood, his eyes closed tightly as he still dreamed through the nightmare he was having. Crimson was trying to get in control, but wasn't having an luck. Sapphire scales had enveloped L's arms and cheeks, he had grown fangs and his ears had pointed. "Mid transformation that was forced, this isn't looking well," Crimson muttered, his hands on L's shoulders and pushing down. "What in the world are you dreaming there!?"

May froze solid when she saw what was happening inside the room. It was an ugly sight. L in a half-dragon, half-human state, coughing up blood all the while looking generally like he was in pain. She cursed and stormed into the room. "What's happening?" she asked, though her tone made it sound like more of a demand. She looked away from L and to Crimson, a rare look of genuine unease sitting on her face like a grim shadow.

"I-I'm not sure, honestly! I've never seen a dragon in this state before. Whatever it is, it's something in his chest that's bothering him. You said you got all the bullets out, so dragonsbane isn't the problem here." Crimson stood back up, wincing when blood started to well up where his claws had dug into his chest. "I'm not sure if it's a nightmare either, there's a high possibility that it isn't though." He watched as the fruit bat flew and sat on a dresser, watching curiously at the scene. "Can you try something May?"

May was staring at L, wincing at the sight of him in such pain but unable to look away. "What do you want me to do?" she asked Crimson incredulously, not sure why he would ask her to do something when she had very little knowledge of how dragons even worked in the first place.

"Look him over, put a hand on his shoulder, see if you can find something I can't, talk to him, I don't know!" Crimson had almost resorted to panicking. He was freaked out at the situation, mostly since L's cries had turn animalistic. His cries where ragged and hollow, seeming to echo on itself. While one hand had clung to his chest, the other was gripping the sheets tightly.

May pinched the bridge of her nose and shook her head. "You shouldn't be the one panicking!" she exclaimed, almost in a scolding way, as she approached L. "Hey... Hey, are you alive in there, ugly-scales?" She spoke to him as she looked him up and down, trying to spot anything out of the ordinary. "Come on, I know you can hear me. I'm not the quietest person around." She placed her hand under his head and pushed it up so she could see the rest of his face. "What's the deal with you, man?" she mumbled, trying her best to keep her hands, and her whole body for that matter, from shaking anxiously.

His cries down in a matter of seconds, along with his spazzing. Crimson watched dumbfounded at this, wondering why May was able to do it with just a simple action. When he thought back to his readings, he remembered something before crossing his arms. The thought of it was crazy for him, but it may be worth a try for him. "M-move your hand for a second? I want to try something.." He was hesitating, but he had to make sure that his theory was true.

May too was surprised to see L calm down so quickly. She had hardly done anything. But she was relieved all the same. Looking up at Crimson, she nodded and moved her hand, backing up to give him room. "Sure. Go ahead, Vamp-bro."

When Crimson set a hand on L's shoulder, nothing had happened. "All right, let me try this.." he placed a hand on May's shoulder, and a low, guttural growl enveloped the room. When he raised his hand, the sound stopped. "Well that's something, never thought he would get attached to another, never less a human," Crimson shrugged and walked over to the fruit bat, picking her up and calming her down.

May blinked a few times, not sure what was going on. "Um. Excuse me? Explain, maybe? I kinda still don't know how you dragon freaks work." She sat on the bedside, giving L a little pat on the shoulder to congratulate him on shutting up and calming down. "Seriously, what ever happened to respecting the tourists...?"

"Well, to make this simple, dragons used to horde treasure a long time ago, before changing when their horde was raided as they were killed in their dens. Dragons changed to seeing other creatures, dragons, and even humans, as something they cared about. In other words, L sees you as a treasure." He chuckled and he rubbed the bat's stomach. "It makes sense, I knew I sensed jealousy on the flight here!"

"Eh? Did you just say, a treasure?" She burst out laughing, unable to take something that silly with any seriousness. "Haha, you're funny! You really are!" she said, shaking her head. There was a layer of pink on her cheeks, but she seemed completely unaware of it. "And jealousy? Why would he even be jealous, anyway? I mean, you saw first hand how annoyed he gets with me. I boast, but I'm nothing to be protective over, really." Her voice had toned down a few pitches, and she looked away, scratching her ear. "That just doesn't make sense."

"You're the only contact he's had in a year, if I remember right. He's never been attached to anyone as well. I believe that he knows what's going on, but he just doesn't know what's going on. He's not used to relationships." Crimson replied, looking back at May. "He was worried about you, that's why he was crying out. Since you aren't dragon, you couldn't tell what he was crying for. Since he's not attached to me, I didn't know what he was crying out for. It's similar to a mother and a child, if I could come up with a comparison."

"Ah. Right. I see," May said, still not quite willing to believe the nonsense Crimson was spewing from his nonsense-spewing mouth. She stood up, slowly, and inched towards the exit. "Anyway, I really should be getting some sleep. Been a long day. You know how it is. Bye." She slipped out the door and walked quickly to the room she had been granted, slamming the door behind her.
