"Thought so." Darkblood stated, stopping in front of a cell. He was clearly much bigger than it, and he opened the door and put May in. Glancing in the other next to it, he locked the door and left. "For once, they give me a cell-mate. Wish it wasn't a human though, it stinks," grumbled a man in the next cell. He laid in his bed, eyes closed and his white hair tied back. By his expression, he looked annoyed. The rest of his body though, was either wrapped in bandages or was hidden by his clothes.
"I'm Dip Bip, but just call me DB or Bip for short. What's your name? I rather not call you Kelpie, that'd be rude." He introduced himself, starting to lead Mint into the fort. Bip's pelt was similar to Darkblood's, but lighter in color and purple instead of red. He had two ice blue eyes though, instead of four.

May watched Darkblood go, then glared in the direction of the next cell. "Hey. You stink," she retorted, flopping onto the floor. "I guess guys can't make a good first impression anywhere, can they? What do I expect from an inmate, though..." She snorted and leaned against the wall, feeling rather defeated for the time being. She brushed her hair back, hardly noticing that any traces of hair dye had been totally washed away, replaced by her natural dark hair colour. Once upon a time, she would've looked down at the messy strands with sadness and wondered when she'd get to redo the colouring, but something so silly was the last of her worries.
"Um," Mint stammered, gazing off into the distance. "Dip Bip..." Had the circumstances not been so dull, he would've given a chuckle and smiled warmly at the dragon, complimenting him on his cute name. Instead, he simply raised his chin and said, "N-nice to meet you. I'm, um, I'm Mintas." He dipped his head again, keeping his arms folded protectively in front of him.

"Oh great, they gave me a Chatty Cathy." The man snorted. "How'd you even get here? Aren't humans supposed to be killed on sight?" He sat up, running a hand through his hair and opening his eyes. His eyes were a bright violet, something similar to a polished amethyst. "Might as well tell your story, you're going to be here for awhile."
"It's nice to meet you, Mintas. I wish we met on different circumstances. I assume you met my father? He passed me with that human not too long ago." Bip had a smile on his face as he lead the way. Spotting the guest houses, he turned his head before going to a specific one. The one he went to was made of stone, but it was covered in ferns on the outside. He knew, however, that there was a way to enter a secret passage from there.

May sighed. "Do I gotta? I don't really wanna talk to you," she grumbled. "I just kind of appeared here a few weeks back, y'know? Then this dragon boy was gracious enough to take me in and help me out. He told me he'd help me out, then we got into this whole mess, and now I'm just..." She leaned back and took a sigh to calm herself. Her nerves were tingling, and her chest felt tight, constricted by emotion. "Ugh. I don't know."
"Uh, yeah," Mint confirmed, nodding. "He's a very scary dragon," he remarked, shaking his head. "But very proud." He looked up at the stone house that they arrived at, studying the architecture. "Is this where I'll be staying, Bip?"

"What kind of dragon is stupid enough to let a human tag along with them? Not to mention someone like you." He shook his head, glancing at the other cells. "You'll most likely be dead in a few days. If you're lucky, it'll be quick." The man laid back down, turning his back to her and muttering something to himself. "Get some sleep, it's nearly midnight."
"Mhm! I'll show you the rest of the place tomorrow, if you'd like. Call me for anything you need!" Bip smiled, dipping his head and saying goodnight before going off to find his father.

May's face hardened into an icy glower, but it faded as the man suggested she sleep. Now that her angry fit was dissipating, she noticed a weariness in her body, and decided it would be a good idea so kick back for the rest of the night. She climbed into the bed and burrowed her face in the crook of her arm. She was afraid, but recovering her energy for the potential fight ahead was more important than succumbing to something as pitiful as fear. It wasn't long before she dozed off.
Mint returned the bid and entered the house with caution, closing the door behind him. He gazed around, then worked his way through the building, hunting down and making a mental note of the location of every room in the house. Once he was finished, he wandered back into the bathroom, filled the tub with steaming water, and hopped inside. There, he allowed himself to nod off, feeling safe in the comforting heat of the bath.

It was about noon when the man in the other cell started growling and cursing at others. He was rubbing the newly acquired bandages he had, some starting to stain with violet. In front of him was a plate of raw meat, eventually cooking it in hoping it would help his stomach and replace the sickly sweet stench with something good. He continued to curse though, names such as Calder and a few others coming up in his ranting. Overall, he looked uncomfortable and ticked.
Bip ran across the grounds doing errands. Delivering packages or food to others, meeting with Darkblood for a small chat, then going to the guest rooms. Deciding to take a friendlier, and less intimidating, approach, he shifted into his human form. Being able to do this made Darkblood jealous, for they were similar and yet the older dragon couldn't even change a thing in his appearance, it only happened in aging though. "I wonder what Mintas eats. 'Ve never met a kelpie before." The question made him stop in front of the door, unsure if he should knock or wait.

May had been up for a while, and she had actually begun to enjoy the peaceful quiet of the cell, until the man next door started piping up with his rumbles and his grumbles and his ranting. "Oh my god," she breathed, her irritation increasing with each mutter he spat. "Will you, like, shut up?" she called over, resisting the urge to punch the wall. Her ears were tingling and she could feel her body growing hot as her annoyance reached dangerous levels. "God, venting like that ain't helping anyone, it's just plain annoying. Some of us were enjoying the damn quiet," she hissed. Her mood really had skydived in the past few hours.
Mint woke up late that morning, exhaustion driving him to rest all the way into early noon. When he noted the sun's position in the sky, he flew to get out of the tub and raced around to prepare for the day, hurrying to make himself as presentable as possible in case anyone showed up to speak to him. He brushed his teal hair, tended to the pesky water pests that thrived within his hair, made sure his lilies were healthy, and finally dressed himself. Once he was finished, he left the bathroom and curled up awkwardly in the main room of the house. He noticed before long that he could sense a presence at the door, but he was too nervous to go see who it was, so he didn't move an inch.

"Well excuse me princess," He sneered. "You weren't prodded with needles and wires. Usually they do it for the entire day, but they're all excited about some execution." Taking the meat in his hands, he tore off a piece and ate it. "Must be your dragon friend, not surprised." Viney sat in the corner as a rat, blinking and rolling his eyes. "Running out of time hun."
Bip shook his head, then knocked on the door without another thought. "Uh, Mintas? Are you awake?" He asked, feeling uncomfortable being outside in his human form.

May scoffed when she heard the sour jeer, blatantly offended. "Alrighty, salt queen," she mocked, hitting her head off of the wall as if it would ease the pounding in her head. It just made it worse, unsurprisingly, and that ticked her off even more. Then, Viney appeared, and she flinched. She'd recognize his voice anywhere, so even his appearance as a rat didn't throw her for much of a loop. "Ugh. I know. But uh, I'm a bit stuck in here, demon bud. And with the little pity prince over there, too." She snorted, pinching the bridge of her nose as she talked.
Mint heard the knock on the door and jumped, but he recognized the voice. He recalled the voice's owner to be named Bip. The young dragon seemed like a peaceful person, so he forced himself to relax and open the door. "Um, hi," he mumbled. He had intended to keep his eyes on the ground, but seeing the youngling in his human form was a surprise. C-cute! his mind spluttered as he stared. It made him a bit self-conscious. Was he that cute? Was he cuter? What if he wasn't as cute? The whole ordeal quickly exhausted his brain's capacity and one could practically see steam leaking from his skull. "C-c-can I help you, uhh, Bip?"

"Have you tried the weapons I gave you?" Viney asked, rolling his eyes like it was the most obvious answer to go with. "Besides, that dragon may be your only option to get out and save your boyfriend. There's a reason why you came here." He stayed where he was, deciding to watch the scene unfold. The man shook his head, scratching where the collar was. It annoyed him to no end, but it was also kept him in here. "Stupid collar, if only it wasn't filled to the brim with dragonsbane," he mumbled.
"Is there anything you would like to eat, Mintas?" Bip chirped, tilting his head. "And uh, are you okay? You seem to be steaming."

May still had the weapons on hand, but she wasn't sure how they'd be useful. She was about to ask for a tip when Viney made a very particular remark. One that tipped the scales, sending whatever scraps remained of her will to remain peaceful flying into the air and disappearing into the abyss beyond the skies. "Haha, I'm sorry, what?" she asked in an innocent voice, nearing closer to him. "Save my what? Did you just call that black-scaled, moony-eyed crabbyclaws my boyfriend?!" She got up and stomped over to Viney, snatching him by the tail and hauling him into the air. "I will cook you and eat you, ratboy," she threatened before tossing him carelessly aside. Then she took out the gems that concealed her weapons, her finest creations, her partners in crime. She studied them, then sighed and tucked them back in her pocket. "A few blade won't get me out of a cell. And how the hell can that guy help me? He's weird, does nothing but talk to himself." Her burst of anger had evidently subsided after throwing Viney. Her words were calm, spoken in her usual tone, and her body language displayed a much more relaxed demeanour, hands slack at her sides and eliminating her offensive position.
Mint blinked, then gazed away. "I, um. I guess food would be nice," he confirmed once he'd recovered. Then he looked back at Bip. "A-and I wasn't steaming, not at all! Maybe I'm just getting a fever or something..." He touched the back of his hand to his forehead, testing for heat. It was cool, so he took a breath and lowered his hand again. "Um, kelpies are carnivores, so... Anything in that range would do me just fine. Thank you for your kindness, great dragon."

He watched her, arching a brow before snorting. "Oh wow, human girl has a crush on the dragon that's being killed at dawn. Isn't this a sappy anime we're in..." He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms as he sat in his bed. "Now that I think about it Hellsing would be nice to watch right about now. The blood and action always seems to rile me up." "Ooh! That is a good one! By the way, hi Ice." "Hello Viney."
"We have a very large range on meat, seeing as we're dragons. From shellfish to forest animals, large and small, thick and thin. We have..." He scratched his head shyly. "Too much meat in my opinion. I'd like to show you something in your room though, first, if you don't mind. It'll help you in your situation."

May looked between them, frustrated that she didn't receive an answer to either of her pressing questions. However, the apparent familiarity between Viney and the other dragon, who she learned was named 'Ice', caught her interest. "Okay, okay. Who are you, dude?" she asked, gazing over at the unfamiliar dragon. "Well, I know your name now, but like, how are you relevant to the plot of our sappy anime here?" Her last few words held a bit of venom, but her fire had pretty well died by that point, so she spoke more jokingly than anything.
Mint nodded. "That sounds good. Forest animals are my preference," he commented. Then his brows lifted at Bip's other comment. "Um, something in my room?" he asked. He stepped out of the doorway after a bit of hesitance to allow Bip to enter. "Uh, go ahead." He was pretty desperate for assistance, and Bip was earnest enough. He felt like he could trust the young dragon.

"Well, depends on why you're here in the first place? Who's the dragon that you came with?" Ice asked, glancing at Viney from time to time as the little demon went to a shadowed corner. He narrowed his eyes, only to not say a word as he watched the demon change.
Bip nodded, walking inside and closing it after Mint followed him. There's a tunnel system that'll get you through this place with ease. There's a box of supplies at the entrance here, so that'll help you." He looked at the bed, then pulled it up to show a trapdoor underneath. You could barely see it, as it's color matched the floor. But if you looked close enough, it was there. "Since the execution is at dawn, you'll be able to get through and possibly intervene with this. You might have to get help from your friend though."

"Dragon I came with, well, he's a real treat is who he is," she grumbled, launching a kick at the wall. "His name's Loony-Moony - er, I mean, his name's L. You know him?" She decided to sit down to prevent hurting her foot anymore than she already had with her expressions of frustration. "Everyone seems to know 'im, so I wouldn't be surprised."
Mint followed, listening closely to what Bip was telling him. "Wow, tunnels?" he asked, his voice soft, as though he was afraid someone might hear. He stepped back as Bip pulled the bed into the air, revealing the well-hidden trapdoor. He had to admit, he wouldn't have noticed it if it hadn't been pointed out to him. It blended in well with the floor. He was impressed. "Ah, thank you for helping me," he said, peeking closer at the trapdoor before leaning away again. "I-I really can't do anything on my own, though. I hope that chatterbox gets out okay..."

"That's..." Ice sighed, shaking his head. "Thought he was smarter than bringing a human along. Nonetheless, a girl." He stiffened, seeing Viney in his actual form saunter around the cells. "You know they're cells stacked on top of yours, right? It's kinda nuts. Alrighty, time for ya to go." Viney grabbed the bars, shaking his head before pulling them off. Ice wasted no time in getting out, pushing boxes before slipping through an opening. "Follow him May, or you're as good as lunch." Viney waved goodbye before disappearing in a cobalt cloud.
"I can join you if you'd like, I don't mind. To be honest, I suggested that to my father when he wondered about your well being in there." Bip lowered the bed back down gently, shrugging. "But we'll use them when we know they're out. Father purposely took your human companion down to where Lunar's brother is. They'll figure out something. Now about food, let's go get some grub." He walked back to the door, humming and opening up. "After you~"
