L blinked in surprise, but the emotion disappeared quickly. "You may, but I must warn you, the lady that was here moments ago is a human. If anything happens, I would like you to deny that you knew what she was one. I want you, and her, to be safe before I consider my own. Do you still want to come with us?"
Viney smiled, giggling as he put his paws onto his chest. "You'll find out yourself, now go back with the rod. I'll pop back sooner or later, you'll see me later though, don't worry." With that, he disappeared into a small cloud of smoke.

"A human? Oh, I see." Mint nodded in understanding. "I shan't speak a word. I may as well have forgotten." There was a determined look in their eyes. "I would still like to go along with you."
May glared into the empty space where Viney had once been sitting and huffed. Then she shrugged off her suspicions and grabbed the crystal rod out from the nest of reeds and made her way back to L and the Kelpie.

His ears perked up, and he did his best to nod. "Then I look forward to travelling you. Oh, and she's coming over now with the rod." His paws tucked underneath himself, and he closed his eyes.

Mint was about to reply until they saw May approaching and grunted in surprise, instinctively ducking behind L to keep themselves as far out of sight as possible.
May chuckled when she saw Mint hide away, but didn't pay the Kelpie much mind otherwise. "Okay, jeez, I finally got your stupid crystal stick. Now let's get you outta here." She began trying to pry L free once again.

L gripped the boulder once more, managing to rid his horns free after a moment. He rubbed at them, making the grit fall and making sure they weren't cracked. "Luckily, they're alright. Thank you May," he replied. Turning his head to Mint, he tilted his head. "She won't bite, but she'll annoy you to no end."

May danced around to where Mint was hiding and held out her hand. "Yeah, I'm not a biter, even if I bark now and then. May's the name, puns are the game, pleasure meeting you." Mint simply shied away from her and hid behind one of L's front legs. "I don't shake hands," he murmured, placing his hands on L's scales and staying close to the dragon, who provided a nice source of comfort. "But, um, nice to meet you."

"Mint here will be joining us, so I expect you to give him his space," L said, poking May's stomach with his nose. "Are we clear?"

"Give 'him' space? Wait, wait, so he's seriously a boy?" May asked in amzement, looking over at Mint with bewildered eyes. Mint gawked angrily at her but didn't say anything. "Okay, yeah, I'll give him space," May agreed with a sigh. "Wow, it's just one surprise after another, huh? Anyway, are we going to keep moving now?"

"Watch your manners, and we'll leave in a moment. If you have anything you need Mint, go ahead and get ready to leave," He stood and walked to the bank, lowering his head to take a drink.

May pouted and grumbled but didn't kick up a major fuss. Mint looked up at L and shook his head. "No. I have no possessions. I am ready to leave whenever you are."

L looked back, nodding and licking his maw. He stretched his legs, then lowered himself down. "Alright then, climb on."

Mint allowed May to climb up first, and then he took the spot behind her. "Ready!" May cheered. "Ready," Mint echoed quietly, holding tightly to L's scales.

He nodded, taking a moment to spread his wings before taking them off. It took a few seconds before he was flying smoothly through the air.

Mint gasped in surprise as the dragon took flight. He could feel the power of L's wings with each stroke they made, and the sense of being carried away by the wind was ever-present, sending a rush through his body. "I've never felt anything quite like this," he mumbled, ducking down and holding tight. He wanted to peek over the side, but truth be told, he was more than a little scared. May laughed and nodded. "I know, right? It's amazing! Hey L, you should do a flip!" "Please don't!" Mint exclaimed as his hands began to quiver.

"I rather not, since flipping is usually used for fun or speed. I'm not racing anyone either," He replied, picking up the pace slightly. The faint scent of rain filled his senses, and seeing how winter was close, it could easily turn to snow. Finding cover and gaining distance away from Crimson's home was his goal for today.

Mint exhaled a breath of relief. "Thank you." He, too, could sense the oncoming weather and gazed up at the sky, hoping that they would be able to find shelter. "Aw, okay," May said. "Sometime, though, you've gotta do one. I wanna know what it's like to do a loop on dragon back!"

"Then you'll drop and fall. I rather not," L snorted, looking below to find snow. He could feel the cold air, but it didn't disturb him. Wherever he was, it was getting colder. He hoped he'd find a map soon, but that would be tricky.

"Then you can hold me in your paws or something," May persisted stubbornly, ignoring the shivers that she was being plagued with. She was suffering worst from the cold out of all three being present, but she did her best to pay it little mind. Mint had spent many a winter's night in the icy pond he called home, so he was more used to dealing with the chill than the human who sat before him. "I don't believe being clutched in a dragon's paws would be a very pleasant experience," he commented quietly, but May scarcely heard his remark.

"It wouldn't be, since our paws are rough. Unless you like sitting in a place where getting clawed is easy." He looked back for a moment, then down below once more. "Either lay against my scales or suffer, May. I have enough heat to share. The higher we are, the colder it gets, and we're going to be up here for awhile." L spotted a group of animals, but he couldn't tell what they were from how high up he was. The hope to finding a town was small, but it would help if there was to be snow tonight.

"Aha... I guess that'd be a good idea," May decided. She would have liked to be stubborn and declined the suggestion, but she quite liked the idea of being warm. She leaned forward and pressed herself to the scales that lined L's pelt, surprised at the heat they radiated. "Mm, I could practically fall asleep here," she said. "If I wasn't flying through the air who knows how many feet up, I might have considered it."
