He circled around the prey, keeping out of sense range but moving into a position where he would be able to help out if needed.

She turned towards the prey and slowly took a few steps toward it. When Jay was close enough, she pounced and killed the vole as quickly as she could.

Obscure left the hunting stance when he saw that the vole had been successfully killed. He offered a triumphant smile.

She dipped her head as a reply, wondering if they should hunt some more.

Obscure swished his tail and started walking away to fetch the other prey they caught, figuring that was good enough.

He collected the prey, then sat down to eat.

Obscure finished eating quickly, then stretched, yawning as he did so. Then he blinked and gazed around, wondering what else there was to do.

She finished, then buried the remains. Jay laid her head on her paws, her ear twitching once in awhile.

Obscure watched Jay, then looked up at the sky. It was still early, and the sun was clearly visible through the branches above. Mulling quietly, he continued looking at the sky.

She sat up to scratch her side, then wondered what else there was to do.

Obscure was distracted from his thoughts as a colourful butterfly floated past. He watched it, pale green eyes locked on intently. it fluttered past his muzzle, it's delicate wings tickling his nose, then the breeze carried it away, pulling it's small, light body through the air. He continued watching, ears flicking.

An idea appeared in her head and she considered it an option. It was one she normally doesn't think of, but it was something. Jay turned to Obscure, and without a second thought, pounced on him in a childish manner.

As he couldn't make noises, being a mute, he let out a puff of air in surprise, tail puffing up to twice its usual size as he lost his balance and toppled to the ground. He turned his head to look at Jay, and huffed in relief before finding himself shifting into a playful mood, smiling childishly and swatting at his friend's ears.

She giggled and shook her head when he swatted her ears in return. She poked his nose with her paw and bounced back a few steps.

He stumbled back to his feet and sat back on his haunches, front paws hanging in the air. He smiled and reached out, batting at the air, finding himself just out of reach of her whiskers.

She kept low to the ground, waving her tail in the air and waiting for him to do something.

Obscure saw her tail waving and placed his forepaws back on the ground. Tail lashing, he wriggled his haunches and pounced, aiming to pin her tail to the ground.

She watched as he leaped over her, then felt her tail get pinned. Jay turned to look at him before pouncing on Obscure.
