"O-okay..." She approached the edge of the path and looked back and forth. Once she was sure nothing was coming she tensed her muscles and bolted across. She had cleared it in a matter of few seconds, and halted on the other side, heart beating wildly. "Hey! I made it!" She called out happily.

They did the same after a few moments. "Woah, we did too!" Berry chirped. Crux shook his head, "Get used to it, there maybe many more like this wherever we're going."

Chroma seemed to ignore Crux, smiling at Berry. "That was scary, wasn't it? But we did it! We're the bravest cats ever!" She cheered, giving a bounce. "Now let's keep going!" She bounded into the trees.
(Lol I just got a good idea.
What if I reintroduced a certain murderous black she-cat...
But it turned out she knows Chroma? XD )

(Yep XD They do! That will just make this all the more interesting, since Shadow won't be able to fight them with Chroma around...)
There was a second cat roaming nearby. She was relaxing in a tree, fluffy black tail hanging down over a branch. Her shining green eyes were open, gazing at the ground below. She wondered if anyone would pass by today. It had been a while since she encountered another feline. Her life had become a quiet one.
Chroma led them along, once again ignoring Crux's remark. Her tail swished happily behind her.

Berry followed beside Chroma, not casting a usual glance at Crux now and then like he usually did.

The dark-furred she-cat saw a group passing below her and froze, a quiet choking sound escaping her throat. She edged backwards on the branch, making the leaves rustle. She muttered under her breath, knowing she would be detected after making that much noise.
Chroma tilted her head, hearing leaves rustle. She gazed up and smiled as her colourful eyes met a familiar pair of green ones. "Shadow!" She cheered.
Shadow cursed. She couldn't run now. She leaped gracefully down from the tree, landing silently and swiftly next to Chroma. "What are you doing here?" She hissed, temporarily ignoring the other cats.
"I'm on an adventure!" Chroma purred, giving Shadow a nuzzle, which made the long-furred she-cat narrow her eyes in annoyance and distaste and grumble under her breath.

Crux blinked, then chuckled. "Well, the dangerous she-cat returns. How's life?" he asked, sitting down.
Berry sat down beside Crux, not sure what was going on.

Shadow glared at Crux. "You again," she hissed.
"Aw, Shadow, why are you always so mean?" Chroma asked, ears drooping.
She turned her sharp glare in Chroma's direction. "You give me well enough reason to be," she growled, swishing her tail.
Chroma shrugged and turned to look at Berry and Crux. "This is Shadow! She's my friend!" She chirped, grinning.
"I don't think friend is the correct word," Shadow responded irritably, looking away. 'This is embarrassing,' she thought, feeling incredibly undignified.
(Berry's just like "Who da heck is dat" XD)

Berry looked at Chroma and Crux before looking at Shadow. Crux shook his head, "We'll be on our way, unless Chroma wants to keep talking to you."

"Shadow, you should come with us!" Chroma chirped, smiling.
Surprisingly, Shadow considered this. "Hm... And where is it you're off to, anyway?"
Chroma shrugged. "I dunno! We're just gonna explore, and see what happens, I guess!"
Shadow gazed away for a moment, then turned back to her. "Alright. I'll humour you and tag along." She looked around and scoffed. "It's too quiet here anyway."
Chroma cheered. "Yay! I'm going on an adventure with Shadow!"

Shadow stepped back and examined the group. "Alright. So, who do we have here... There's Chroma of course," she began, flicking her tail in Chroma's direction. "Then there's... you..." She glared at Crux, then she looked at Berry. "I don't believe I've met you before, though. I'm Shadow, and you are?"

"Alright. Well now that I know your names and I can properly insult you all should the need arise, I'm ready to head out. Lead the way." She nodded to Chroma.
Chroma smiled. "Yay! Okay! It'll be fun, I promise!"
Shadow grunted. "Don't promise me that." Then she followed as Chroma began walking away.
