Abrevynen frowned, landing on the serpent's muzzle. "Oh, that's awful..." 'You don't think he can stay with us, do you?' he asked Kowara hopefully, feeling bad for the creature.

I wouldn't mind, I would have to make sure there's enough room...and that he doesn't mess with anything, she responded, watching the two.
Vezolth blinked, then sighed. "You wouldn't want to know why I came here in the first place."

After telepathically sending his thanks, Abrevynen patted Vezolth's head comfortingly. "Don't worry. The past is in the past. Why don't you come with me and Kowara? We might have room for you!"

Vezolth blinked in surprise. "R-Really? What's the cost?" he asked, looking at the Kitsune.
"Don't mess with anything, mostly the paintings and treasures. That's it," Kowara replied, receiving a nod from the feathered serpent.

Happy, Abrevynen did a little hop. "Yay, I'm so happy this is all sorted out!"
Kouhane, who was still sitting on Kowara's back, said, "If you're planning to return to your home, I should be on my way." She stood up and hopped to the ground.

Kowara nodded, "Alright then Kouhane. It was nice to be with you."
Vezolth gave a small smile at the little creatures action.

Kouhane nodded and walked off, muttering to herself about cats along the way. ABrevynen flapped back over to Kowara and sat with his head high. "okay! Let's go!"

Kowara nodded and flicked her tails, motioning for Vezolth to follow. He nodded again and slithered after her, making sure nothing grabbed the bandages or hit his wings.

Abrevynen decided to go the short journey back home by wing, and he flapped along next to Kowara. "What do you think tomorrow will be like?" he asked, feeling the setting sun's rays strike his ghostly pelt. "I hope we see Kouhane again. But that hunter, I think we could do without meeting up with him. He's a little... standoffish, isn't he?" He sighed.

"That's what makes things interesting," she replied. "Everyone is different here, and meeting them can prove to be an experience. The hunter though, I felt more comfortable talking to him in my other form honestly. Not sure why." Kowara stopped in front of her home, relieved that she didn't feel a presence inside. "Keep the serpent busy for me? I need to make room."
Vezolth stopped, looking at the home in question. He couldn't see anything inside, but assumed that it was alright.

Abrevynen nodded and glided over to Vezolth. "Heya! We gotta stay out here for a bit, okay?" He perched on the serpent's snout again and looked around. "So, have you been on any fun adventures before? I don't think you come from this forest, so you must have seen some unique things! What was your home like, if you don't mind me asking?"

Kowara walked inside and started making room, from moving things around and just creating room in general.
"Erm, I'm from a temple and I've lived above a village. I haven't really traveled until recently," Vezolth said.

"A temple? I've never seen one of those in real life! What are they like?" he asked, trying to picture the ancient stone walls, covered in carvings and artwork and stories of long ago. He'd only ever seen them in the books his elders read to him and his fellow younglings.

Vezolth thought for a moment. "Well, they're large, and it takes awhile to climb them by foot. In the area we lived, the villagers actually welcomed us. I was the one who mainly went down there, since the other Quetzalcoatl's didn't enjoy my company." A small smile appeared on his maw at the memory.

"It sounds like such a nice place," the ethereal ferret hummed. stretching his tiny legs. "Did you say the others didn't enjoy your company? Why's that? You seem like such a nice creature." He rolled off of his perch and his wings carried his barely transparent body slowly to the ground.

"Well, all the others didn't have brightly colored feathers. The brighter your feathers, the more you were respected. So when I came along, they didn't like how my feathers resembled the sun. You can tell by my wounds to tell what they did," he said sadly, deciding to lay down next to Abrevynen.

"Oh, I see! That makes sense, I've heard stories about creatures like that. The nicer you look or the stronger you are, the higher your status. Still, that's no reason to not like you! You're feathers are so beautiful! I can't believe they'd really hurt you over such a silly thing." He shook his head, a small frown on his mouth. "Unless they're born with wings, like in the case of a bird or something, mostly everyone from my tribe is stuck with the same white feathers! Except for the chief. His are a super pretty gold!"

"Well, it also mattered with how much attention you would receive from the village. The humans took care of us, and looked upon us for protection. When they saw me, they went crazy. They named me, and added 'the sun' after it. They believed that as long as I was taken care of, their crops would grow well. A few thought that I meant that I would bring a bright future. I'm not sure how the village is handling now that I'm gone.." Vezolth said, checking on his wing.

"They must be so sad that you left," Abrevynen murmured. "But I don't blame you for leaving. I'm sure you'll be much better off here. And you'll make plenty of new friends!" He smiled, patting the serpent on the nose. "There are a lot of meanies in this wood, but they don't matter if you have friends to help you out, right?"

Vezolth nodded, "Right. Hopefully I'll have a better life here. My first day here has been an adventure, that's for sure!"
