Zilius flinched when he was snapped at, but otherwise showed little emotion in his actions. "Feathered serpent? ...That's right." He quickly recalled the serpent in question. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go and accept the thanks. Situations like the one he was being faced with made him uncomfortable. He decided, though, that it couldn't hurt. "Lead me to him."

Kowara nodded and turned around, "Now we're getting somewhere, for once." She started walking back to Vezolth without another word, but she did keep her guard up.
Vezolth raised his head, hearing faint footsteps from where Kowara and the other two had gone.

Zilius followed her in silence. He kept his hands free of a weapon but his guard was raised, keeping a few paces behind the odd trio before him. A kitsune, just as whimsical as the legends told. A byangoma, unusually mouthy for her kind. And the third, a harmless looking ferret with a pair of white wings. He couldn't imagine what had brought the three of them into a friendship, they were all quite different.

Kowara stopped when she made it to the clearing Vezolth laid in, noting that he seemed aware of them returning to him. She kept looking between Zilius and Vezolth, making sure no one would receive fresh wounds. The encounter before her was odd to her, knowing that everyone here was different. A secretive hunter, a scared and wounded Quetzalcoatl, a Byangoma who was wise and talkative, a white-winged ferret that was linked to her soul, and a Kitsune who only came out of solitude as of recent.

Zilius looked calmly at Vezolth. No conversation had been initiated, so he took the lead. "Hello again," he said, his tone not friendly nor cold. "You wanted something?" The quiet hunter was eager to just get this over with. His face was mostly hidden, and his arms were crossed. He stood in a way that was defensive, but not hostile. He didn't intend to attack anyone if he didn't have to.

Vezolth nodded, thinking for a small moment before speaking. "I wanted to say thank you, for treating my wounds. I was hoping I would give you something in return, or perhaps aid you with anything," he was surprised at himself, expecting him to stutter on his own words or even hesitate. Overall, he was proud of himself at the moment.

Zilius listened to the thanks. Gratitude was an odd concept to him, but he accepted with a small nod. "Very well." Any sensible creature couldn't deny the benefits of a debt owed, as much as he hated making connections. "What would you give me?" The serpent didn't seem like he had much to give, nor did Zilius know what a wounded beast like him could help with.

"The only things I could give, in all honesty, is my service or venom. I have very little to give, since I had no time when I flew away from home," Vezolth disliked how saying the word home gave him a sense of dread. Overall, he didn't like having debt go unpaid. Despite what he had been through, he still had a sensible side, in his opinion at least.

"What do you mean by service?" he asked, meanwhile thinking about the things he might be able to do with the venom. It would be useful if he dipped his blades or his arrows in it, he thought, and might have some interesting medical properties.

"Get you supplies, take care of something, anything you'd like," he didn't know what else to suggest, but he knew what he was doing.

Zilius nodded. "I haven't the need for any services, but I'll accept your venom." Being the shapeshifter he was, he was quite capable of handling any problems he had on his own. Or at least, he'd never experienced anything that he might need help with.

Vezolth nodded, "Take as much as you need...erm, how are you going to gather it?"

He shrugged his bag off of his shoulders and searched through it. "Ah... I don't have any containers. I'll be back in just a moment." He picked his bag back up and dashed out of sight. He returned a few minutes later carrying a jar. "I hope it isn't acidic. I don't have anything that can withstand acid," he said, and he held out the open jar for Vezolth to fill with venom.

"It's not, but the color is odd," he responded. Without another moment, he filled the jar as much as he could, sitting back to look at the strange, golden venom. "I hope that will do."
Kowara blinked, somewhat amazed at the color. She had seen venom before, but it was either clear or a pale purple.

Zilius didn't appear bothered by the golden liquid. "Yes, that's fine." He put the cover on the jar, turning it tight, and tucked it into his bag." Then he crossed his arms again, tightly, and he lowered his head. "Can I go now?"
Kouhane muttered something to Abrevynen, who nodded in agreement and whispered back, "I know!"

Vezolth nodded, looking at Kowara who stepped forward. "You may go, hunter. Thank you for your time." For some reason, she didn't want to say that last sentence. Overall, it was done and over with.

Zilius nodded his thanks and took his leave, departing from the area as quickly as possible.
Kouhane sighed. "I don't like him. He reminds me of a dead leaf." Abrevynen heard this and laughed.

Kowara chuckled at the remark as well, while Vezolth just sighed. "He's more bland than the canvases I use," she snorted, watching the serpent hang his head and sigh.

Abrevynen and Kouhane both laughed at Kowara's remark. Then, the ferret turned his head to look at Vezolth. "What is it? You don't seem happy," he observed, fluttering off of Kowara's head and over to the serpent.

"Where else can I go? I'm wounded and my only weapon is venom," Vezolth looked down at Abrevynen. "I don't know this forest either, so that's even worse."
