"I don't know, let's find out!" Abrevynen answered, flapping towards the entrance and peeking inside.

Kowara was awake, her eyes blank as she toyed with a piece of metal in her paws. She muttered to herself as she rolled it around in her paws, growling when she couldn't find a weak point.

"Kowara?" Abrevynen asked, flying over to the kitsune and landing on her head. "Hey, what are you up to?" He eyed the piece of metal curiously.

She replied with a grunt, eyeing the piece with interest. With a growl, she tossed it into a pile of ore. With that done, Kowara buried her head into the blankets.

Abrevynen sighed when she didn't answer him. "Hey, are you listening?" He asked her both aloud and telepathically, jumping from her head and onto her back, and then bacon onto her head.

("bacon onto her head")
Kowara put her paws onto her head, her markings glowing faintly.
"Is everything okay?" Vezolth asked, poking his head into the home.

(I have no excuse XDD)
Abrevynen looked over at Vezolth. "I dunno. She won't answer me at all!" He frowned, looking back down at Kowara. "Come on. Say something."

He slithered towards the baskets and put the fruit there. Once Vezolth was done with that, he went over towards Kowara and Abrevynen. "It seems like she's fighting something, but I don't know what she's against," he muttered, his eyes on the glowing markings.

Abrevynen sighed. "That's no good... This might be like what happened last time..." He looked at Vezolth with a worried frown. "What should we do?"

Vezolth was about to reply, when he jumped and quickly pulled Abrevynen away. Not a moment later, Kowara erupted in flames. The serpent winced at the heat, but noted that it wasn't burning anything around it. "Sorry about that, but I didn't want a burned friend, ya know?"

Abrevynen squeaked in surprise as he was yanked away from Kowara. He his himself in the feathers of Vezolth's wings, peeking over them to watch Kowara with a sad look. "I wonder what's wrong with her... Oh, I hope she'll be alright..."

"With how she is, I'm unsure." The flames died down moments later, not leaving a trace. Vezolth sighed, "Wish there was more we could do."

Abrevyen sighed. "Maybe we should check in on her a little later. Until then, can you think of anything we could do?"

"N-Not really, I was going to see if I could find a stream and wash my feathers in them. Would be better if there was a waterfall nearby," He hummed at the thought of being under the rushing water again.

"Oh, okay. Let's go, then! My wings could use some cleaning." Abrevynen said, casting another nervous look at Kowara but then turning away. "Maybe we'll get some ideas while we're there, or while we're on our way there..."

Vezolth nodded, exiting the home. "Do you know where a water source is, Abrevynen?"

"Hm, I think I might. Follow me." He took wing and glided off into the trees, leading Vezolth off.

Vezolth followed behind, making sure his healing wing didn't hit anything.

The two of them soon came to a freshwater spring. Cool water was flowing out from a small, rocky cave entrance nearby and drifting along the riverbed. Abrevynen plopped into the water, only to hear a startled squawk from a small distance away. "Hey! Who just splashed? I don't appreciate you hooligans sneaking up on me..." a familiar bird grumbled, crest flaring and wings spread menacingly. She didn't actually look very threatening, though. in fact, it was quite funny. Abrevynen giggled at her.

Vezolth slithered into the water, sighing happily. "Sorry, we didn't know you were there!" He said, hesitating before putting his wings into the water.
