Kouhane relaxed at the apology, lowering her wings. "Well, watch out for blind birds, you stupid hoodlums!" she advised them in a harsh voice, squawking grumpily. "We will be more careful from now on," Abrevynen assured her with a laugh.

He hummed when he lowered his head into the water, lifting his head with a huff. "This is nice and relaxing."

Abrevynen shivered. "It sure is cold though!" He exclaimed, slowly adjusting to the chill of the current. Kouhane quietly continued preening her feathers, muttering every few moments.

"At least it isn't snowy around, otherwise we would be freezing our feathers off." Vezolth was cleaning his feathers, getting rid of any sticks or stones that managed to lodge themselves. The water helped him find the items, since they were kept down and stayed together.

Kouhane looked over at him. "Ugh. Frozen feathers. That would be unpleasant. I would not only be blind, but paralyzed." Then she snorted and commented, "I sound like an old, old bird..."
Abrevynen chuckled at her. "If I was blind, I'd probably sound like an old grump too!" Kouhane glared. "Did you call me a grump, little feathery furball?"

Looking between the two, he backed up a bit. "I am staying out of this."

Abrevynen flared his wings and then cowered beneath them, submersing himself in the water. "Spare me please, oh wise one!" he bellowed. He edged his way backwards towards Vezolth for protection, and Kouhane advanced, her long, thin legs carrying her light body easily through the current. "I'm going to pluck a feather from you, little ferret!" she grumbled, and Abrevynen squealed in fear and scampered up Vezolth's back. "Defend me, Vezolth!" he whined, a giggle escaping him.

He shook his head, snorting in amusement. "What could I do against someone so wise?" Vezolth asked, keepings his wings to his sides. "And besides, aren't you a strong one, Abrevynen? Is even the strong beaten by the wise?"

"What? What made you think that I am strong?" Abrevynen wondered. "I'm just a little, harmless ferret. It's not worth picking a fight with me," he wailed. Kouhane huffed. "Oh, you're right. Your feathers are spared this time, but watch what flies out of your mouth from now on." She turned around and climbed out of the water, shaking the residue out of her feathers. Relieved, Abrevynen rolled down Vezolth's spine and splashed into the river.

Vezolth shook his head, then dived underwater and stayed under. The feeling of water running through his feathers and against his scales felt nice. Memories of the creek by the village at home resurfaced, and he pushed the memory away.

Abrevynen dove under the water and puffed bubbles at Vezolth as he swam passed. Then he popped up a small distance away and started paddling back over. His lithe body wriggled through the stream with little effort, though his wings made movement awkward. Keeping them close lessened manoeuvrability, and extending them messed up his balance. He ended up just keeping them folded and dealing with the restrictions.

Vezolth raised his head after ten minutes, stretching his neck and snorting to clear his nose. "I think that's enough time being in the water. It's enjoyable, but staying in it can be bad for you too." He let his wings open up out of the water, flapping them gently to rid some of the water.

Abrevynen looked at him. "You think so? Okie-dokie then." He hopped out of the water and onto the bank, shaking himself free of the water droplets that hung to his fur. "What do we do now, though?"

"I would like to feel the sun on my scales, but it's getting late. So I guess it would be best to head back, see how Kowara is." Vezolth slithered onto the bank, letting the water fall from his body and onto the ground.

Abrevynen's head bowed and he frowned. "Ah... I really hope she's okay. I'm so worried about her. Let's get back quick, okay?" He flapped into the air and landed on Vezolth's den. "Bye-bye, wise bird!" "See you another time, little ferret," Kouhane said. "And may you see warm suns, big serpent."

(Vezloth's den? Or head?)
"May the stars watch over you, wise one. May our paths cross again," Vezolth smiled. He turned and slithered away, heading back to Kowara's den.

(Whoopsie. How do these typos even happen ._.)
"I like the bird," Abrevynen hummed. "She's scary, but I don't think she really means it. She's really interesting, don't you think?"

(I wonder that too, like how I put boy instead of bow)
"Mhm, she reminds me of a human I knew back home. She was wise, but had moments where she'd snap. But she was a good person, and I often went to her for advice." Vezolth hummed, and let himself chuckle quietly.

"Human?" Abrevynen asked. "I've never seen a human in my life. Only humanoid creatures, like that hunter. I think a lot of beings here wouldn't even know what one is. What are they like? I only know them from stories."

"Well, each human is different in their own way. Some are kind while others can be rude. The kids can be strange as well, but most are fun to be with." Vezolth stopped when he spotted the den. "They were definatly nicer than the other Quetzalcoatl I lived with, so I sometimes slept down with the humans. It was nice."
