Abrevynen shrugged. "It was a bit overwhelming. Suddenly I had all of these feelings pushed into my brain, and my thoughts didn't sound like mine. I think it was my body adapting to the new circumstances. I dunno if it's the same for everyone, though." "Hm, I think I understand," Kouhane said. Sounds like an interesting procedure. I don't think I'd like it much! Having someone prying into all of your thoughts would be unpleasant."
"This will hurt a little." Zilius took its wing in his hands and gently moved it this way and that, trying to feel out where the bones were broken and which areas were fine. He found the broken bones and looked around. He picked up two long sticks and set the bones in place before pushing the sticks against its wing on either side. Then he fumbled around in his quiver with one hand, trying to find some spare string for his bow. He usually had some with him. He found it and wrapped it around the wing tightly in three areas to keep the stick in place. "That will keep your wing in the right position, at least for now. Don't move it if you can help it. If you wait, I can fetch bandages. You have large wings, but I can make do if you allow me."

"That's what I thought at first, knowing that someone else would hear my thoughts. It has it's ups and downs, you just have to get used to it." Kowara rolled her shoulders back, wondering what she could do for the rest of the day. Staying and talking to Kouhane would still do, seeing as this creature before her was wise.
He hissed as his wing was moved her and there, then sighed out in relief as the movement stopped. As he listened to the hunter, he swallowed and thought for a moment. "Do what you wish. I don't have the strength to move anyway," he rasped, wincing at the sound of his voice. He laid his head down, trying to relax despite the situation he was in.

Kouhane shifted her wings. "Hm, fair point. So then, you two, where are your paws going to take you next this fine day? Would it be impolite of me to ask to follow? I feel like I'll be bound for adventure if I trail along, I simply cannot resist." Abrevynen smiled at the blind bird. "I don't mind, but it's up to you in the end, Kowara."
Zilius looked over at the creature as he finally spoke, startled by his unexpected voice. He nodded. "Very well. Expect me back in no more than thirty minutes." He gathered his things and walked back to his home. Once there, he fethed his health supplies and a blade, just in case. Once he had everything he returned to the scene and carefully removed the makeshift splint, replacing it with a neater one before wrapping up the wing. Then he started binding what wounds he could. He didn't have the resources to stop every scratch from bleeding, but he handled all of the larger wounds. Content, he backed up to observe his work. Then, abruptly, he turned and left without another word.

"I do not mind one bit. Travelling with more creatures is fun, no matter where the path takes you." With that, she stood up and stretched her limbs, her markings glowing crimson for a few seconds. "You may ride on my back if you'd like, Kouhane. I don't mind carrying another."
The serpent blinked as the hunter left, wishing he had time to thank him for the help. But it was also odd to him. For years, he had received nothing but hate and pain, only relishing peace when the rest of his kind had gone out to hunt or socialize with each other or with the people below. Then he realized how much he didn't miss his old home, it only brought him pain and anger as he remembered. He settled with shaking his head and curling up the best he could, hissing at himself when his stomach grumbled. "I haven't eaten anything except the fruit last night. As good as it was, I'll find something else and forget the taste of it," he spat out a golden, glowing liquid, seeing it linger on the ground made him remember another reason why the others despised him. Venom was unheard of among his group, and finding out he had the ability was another. The serpent shook his head once more, before deciding to doze off in his spot.

Kouhane took up the offer without a second thought and fluttered her wings, giving herself just enough lift to get onto Kowara's back. "Aha, and now I have a mount! Now you feather-snatchers will think twice, imbeciles!" she crowed, her feathers ruffling and her crest feathers flaring. Then she relaxed and her plumage returned to its normal state. "Now, onwards we go to see what we discover!"
Zilius returned to his home, dropped off the supplies, snatched his bow and quiver back up, and returned to his original plan of hunting. He heard scuffling and started tracking whatever made the noise, using all of his senses to estimate its movements and move accordingly, following it through the undergrowth. His steps were light, and an arrow was drawn.

"Onwards!" Kowara repeated, smiling as she started walking through the forest. "Stop me if any of you spot, or sense, anything worthwhile." She tried remembering when she had talked to more than one being, or creature, and found that it had been centuries ago. It had been before she travelled here and made her home here in this forest. The kitsune was happy of the change.
His mind was clear as he dreamed, but his rest was light enough to where he could hear what was going on around him. There had been moments where he froze and woke up, but to hear nothing around him. This continued to be the tempo for many moments.

"Aye!" Abrevynen said, and Kouhane just chirped her acknowledgement. Abrevynen sat in between the Kitsune's ears, while Kouhane was nested into the fur on her back. Both were comfortable and happy. Abrevynen had his senses on high alert for any other creatures, while Kouhane was just relaxing, occasionally muttering something about fiendish and asinine beasts and her precious plumes.
Zilius released his arrow and heard the dying squeak of his prey. He walked over to the carcass. It was a Jackalope. He picked the rabbit up by its antlers and tucked it into his bag. Then he continued with the hunt, looking for a new trail to follow. He was drawn in by the flapping of wings and in a split second shot down a three-legged crow. He collected it and moved on.

Her eyes had changed to a yellow green, a mix of caution and happiness. Kowara watched where she placed her paws as she moved, along with where her tails were. She didn't want her tails to brush against leaves or bushes, she didn't want to make a sound overall.
He opened his eyes and raised his head, looking around the area he was in. Slowly, he raised his body and kept his wings close. With a mutter and a hiss of pain, he slithered off in search of food. Anything that would quiet his stomach would be appreciated.

Abrevynen lifted his head. "Ooh, I sense something," he whispered, looking around. "This something, it seems distressed. It might be injured. Should we check it out?" Kouhane looked over at the ghostly ferret. "If it's injured, it might act hostile out of fear," she said in contribution.
Zilius decided he was pleased with what he'd caught for the time being. He still had plenty of meat left over from his last big catch, so it didn't matter too much if he came home with little that day. He turned and began the trek back to his house.

"If it attacks, I can make sure it doesn't attack. Psychic abilities is the main power I use," Kowara added, wondering where the creature was, and what it was too.
He spotted nothing appealing as he searched. The serpent couldn't hunt anything alive, and he couldn't find any fruit. His stomach rumbled again, and he cursed himself for it. Nothing was ever going to be easy, from this point on, and he knew. All the serpent could do was continue until he found something.

"Then I say we investigate," Kouhane chirped. Abrevynen nodded and pointed with his wing. "It's in that direction. We're too far for me to tell what it is, but I'll let you know as soon as we get close enough."
Zilius dropped off his catches and settled down at his table, where he worked on crafting new arrows. He sharpened the arrowheads, paying attention to their shape as he refined them. He couldn't allow it to be too uneven, or it wouldn't fly properly.

Kowara nodded and headed in the direction Abrevynen pointed. She walked cautiously, her head low and her steps light. The thought of meeting another creature would be interesting, mainly because the creature itself was wounded.
The serpent stopped with a sigh, knowing he wouldn't find anything with how slow he was moving. Instead, he stretched his body and his good wing. Thoughts of what he should do next appeared in his head, yet none of them seemed to agree with him.

"Oh! It seems to be a Quetzalcoatl. It's only a few more minutes away," Abrevynen informed them. "Hmm. Now those are beautiful creatures. I'd dare say their feathers are more fabulous than even mine - if that were true!" Kouhane laughed, her wings spread as though she were admiring them. Alas, she didn't even know what her fabulous feathers looked like. It was a wonder she thought so highly of them - for all she knew, they were mangled and coloured in a distasteful way. Luckily for her, that wasn't the case.

Kowara nodded, walking forward until she spotted the creature. She noted the bright feathers and blue body, her main focus was on it's wounds. "It's had it's wounds cared for, along with one of its wings. I'm unsure of the creature now.." she mumbled quietly, crouching down among the plant growth.

Abrevynen made himself partially invisible, watching from the safety of Kowara's fur. "It's alone. So who do you think cared for those wounds?" he asked, wings tucked to his sides. "And where do you think it got them from? I hope there aren't any big monsters around here..." He shuddered at the thought, a tiny creature like him facing up against a giant beast of his imagination. Kouhane stayed quiet.

"Something with hands and a knowledge to care for wounds like those... the hunter perhaps?" Kowara suggested, her gaze never leaving the serpent in front of her. She didn't want to make a move until the serpent noticed them, or she wanted to just show herself.

"Hunter?" Abrevynen wondered. He couldn't recall if he'd ever met such a creature. "Maybe. But where did this hunter go afterwards? He obviously isn't around here."

"Remember that hunter we've met awhile ago. We found him searching the tree the rest of your kind used to reside in," Kowara responded quietly. She watched as the creature turned it's head and checked it's wing. It winced as it moved it's wing slightly.

"Oh! That's right, I remember," Abrevynen whispered back, nodding. "Yeah, I see how he could have done this. He didn't do too bad of a job. I wonder where he is now?" His eyes never left the serpentine animal before them, ears turned in its direction.

"Any suggestions about the serpent? We shouldn't-" "Stay there much longer? That would be appreciated," the serpent rasped, turning his gaze to where they hid. Kowara cursed quietly, mumbled to herself as she straightened up a little.
