Zilius was still looking away, but he was listening intently to what she said. "I've handled my own before. There's no pride in retreating, but I don't care if it means I survive. My powers allow me that much, easy retreat in almost any situation. Friends just seem like a burden...one that's too heavy for me. Maybe I'm just weak. But I can't help that." He sighed. "It's not pride or stubbornness. I assure you that. If anything, maybe it's fear."

"Are you afraid of getting hurt emotionally? Is that it?" She asked, tilting her head to the side. "I used to feel like that when I started accepting friendship. And, hey, Vezolth sees you as a friend. If he didn't, he wouldn't have asked us to find you and give something in return."

"Maybe I am," Zilius admitted reluctantly. "Emotionally and physically." He pushed his mask back up onto the top of his head, but his eyes remained hidden. "And I know the serpent thinks of me as a friend. Does that mean I have to return the friendship?" He asked in a way that made him sound properly confused about the whole matter.

"You really are blind in terms of friendship," she giggled at this. "It depends. You don't know him well enough to accept him as an actual friend, the only reason the serpent accepted you as a friend was because you showed him kindness, something he forgot was a real thing." Kowara looked up and down at the skull. "The skull though, it's intimidating, it's also a mask that shows that you're hiding who you actually are. Personality wise, not creature wise."

Zilius grabbed his mask, feeling protective over it as Kowara called it out. "I hope you're not suggesting I remove it. I haven't taken it off in front of anyone for as long as I remember." He held onto it by its snout, lowering his icy blue gaze.

"At take it off for a moment? Please?" Kowara asked, wondering how he even got his hands on the skull in the first place.

Zilius tensed up, tightening his hold on the skull. "Just for a moment..." he murmured, as though trying to convince himself that it wouldn't be long. He moved his hands up to the antlers of the skull, slowly and reluctantly pulling it up off of his head. It felt so unnatural, he felt so exposed. He actually felt a shiver glide down his spine. But he did it. He removed the skull and set it on his lap. His inky black hair and sharp blue eyes were fully revealed, and he didn't look very happy about it, looking off to the right and muttering something. Then, louder, he asked, "Can I put it back on now?"

Kowara stared up at him, unconsciously putting her hands on the hunter's cheeks. She was amazed with how he looked, and she's never seen someone look somewhat similar or sort of like this. She absentmindedly smiled and muttered something quietly. When she realized what she sent, she pulled her hands back and fell back against the bed. Her face had turned to a bright red.

Zilius grunted in surprise when Kowara put her hands on his cheeks, a warm feeling rising to his face. He saw her mutter something, but he didn't quite catch it. He stared at her as she suddenly pulled back and flushed a bright red, the sight making the temperature of his own face bump up another few notches. He quickly put his mask back on and cleared his throat, shifting in his seat. "Um." He was inexperienced enough with friendship, and this was a whole other level. He was oblivious.

Her eyes had turned into a rose red, despite how much she yelled at herself not to change to that color on the inside. "S-sorry about t-that." Kowara's face remained red as she spoke. Out of instinct, her fox ears appeared on top of her head. She covered them with her hands a moment later. Someone kill me, this is humiliating!

"Uh. It's okay, I guess," Zilius answered, staring at the ground. Then he abruptly stood up, grabbed his bow, and walked out of the door. "I need to hunt. Goodbye." It wasn't until he had walked ten minutes that he realized he forgot his arrows. He sighed and sat down on the grass, giving up. He felt like the world was trying to send him a message, and he could not for the life of him decipher it.

She sat there, blinking before realizing something. "Abrevynen if you have a grin on your face, wipe it off."
Vezolth woke up and sighed happily, when he looked around, he saw that he was the only one in the home. "I hope the others had an eventful morning."

Abrevynen flinched and answered, "Yes, ma'am!" He chuckled before wiping his smile clear off of his face.
Zilius sat down and simply pondered the events of that morning, still not quite able to wrap his head around everything.
Kouhane was preening her beloved feathers.

Kowara stood and walked out of the house, closing the door and walking off. "What did I get myself into Abrevynen?" She asked, forcing her fox ears to hide again. "My ears don't appear just like that! Something weird happened and I don't know what!"

Abrevynen climbed up her back and sat on her head, shrugging. "I dunno! I have the feeling if I say what I think you'll just get upset with me anyway," he said, snickering a little. It really wasn't that hard to see what had happened, though perhaps that was an opinion only he held.

"Tell me before I knock down a tree, please," Kowara asked as she leaned against a tree.

"Well," he hummed, emitting a strong mischievous aura. He leaned down to Kowara's ear and whispered, "I believe we call these emotions embarrassment, and love." Then he fluttered off of her head and soared off into the sky, chuckling happily. "It feels nice, don't you think?" he called down to her from some unseen spot above. "As soon as you saw the hunter's face I could feel your heart swell with admiration and adoration! It was fantastic!" He was visible for a brief moment as he swirled out of a tree, doing spins in the air, and then he vanished into the leaves of the next tree over.

Her fox ears appeared once more as her face turned as red as an apple. Kowara climbed into a tree and covered her face with her arms. "I'm centuries old and I've never felt this way! AGH!" She muffled her words with her arms.
Vezolth had eaten a few apples he had found before slithering out of the Kitune's home, deciding to try and enjoy the forest today.

"Oh, then you've been missing out on a huge part of your life, Kowara!" Abrevynen exclaimed, returning to where she was sitting and landing on her shoulder. "When I was growing up, I was taught that love will be one of the most important things in the life of whoever you bond with. And you've never felt it until now? That's just terrible!" He continued smiling, nuzzling her face to comfort her.

"You heard my past back in that house. I was pushed away from my kind, and I never knew anything about those emotions. It's a wonder that I'm actually feeling them," She whispered the last sentence to herself.
