L had woken up hours before, and had left the treehouse to gather and shop. From the info he recorded last night, he would have to move. The thought of what May would want to do made his eyes roll, seeing as her being left alone didn't show much of a survival effort. Humans, he thought, passing a small bag of gold to the shopkeeper. Are so stubborn than what I saw last. Unless that's a special case I'm keeping in my shelter. His own thought made him chuckle as he looked over his purchases. With a nod, he teleported back to the treehouse, sorting the clothes, food, and other supplies around the room.

Seeing as she wasn't going to get a reply, she sighed in annoyance and hunted around. She located what she was looking for and straightened out the tangles in her hair. Pleased with how she looked, she waltzed out of the room and into the hallway, wondering what L was up to. May skipped down the hall and peeked into each room until she found him, the creepy old man she was stuck with. "Hey, hey!" she greeted. "What're you up to, hmm?" Her eyes travelled around the room, taking in little details, before she returned her focus back to him.

"Getting ready and packing up. This place isn't needed anymore," he replied simply, his gaze never leaving the piece of paper he held. With a nod, he folded it and went back to packing. L kept darting back and forth, packing clothes in one bag while food went into another. Eventually, he had the needed supplies packed.

"Eh? Packing? We're moving? That's sudden, I only just got here," she muttered with a sigh. "Oh well. Where are we going? Is it nice? Will I be able to talk to someone other than you? Maybe someone slightly less, y'know, weird? Or is everyone here weird?" One would have to physically clamp her mouth shut to stop the current of questions that tumbled out of it. She briefly considered the fact that she would have to pack too, before remembering she had no belongings.

He sighed, knowing he would have to explain why he was doing this. "The main reason I was even out here was, because of my little brother. He disappeared almost a year ago and I've secluded myself here just so that others wouldn't stop me or get in my way." He set three bags by the door, then straightened his back as he continued. "Last night, he managed to call me and tell me some information of where he was. In your world, the country he would be in would be called Russia. I'm going there to find my brother, no matter what gets in the way." L finished with that, looking up at May to hear her reaction.

"Whoa, you have siblings? Now that's a mircale," she said, but her teasing stopped when L continued, explaining that his brother had disappeared. She felt a little bad now, but she wasn't the type to apologize, so she simply quieted, her voice softer than before. "Oh. Okay, I understand," she said with a nod. She livened back up and patted him roughly on the back with a smile. It was more a smack than a pat. "I hope you're taking me with you on this expedition! I wanna be helpful!"

"You'll be facing the rest of my kind, along with other dangerous as we travel. As I mentioned before, I shouldn't be helping you, and someone else would have killed you on the spot. Are you sure about all this?" He asked, taken back that the human wanted to travel with him. A thought appeared in his head, and he quickly pushed it back. L knew that she was stubborn, even if it's only been a day with her here.

May shrugged. "I've been in my share of dangerous situations before. I'll live! I'm tougher than I seem! When you found me I just happened to be going through a weak phase, that's all!" She was grinning. "And I want to know more about this place. What better way to find out than a series of near-death experiences nicknamed 'travelling?'" She stifled a laugh at her own joke, hoping L wouldn't have any doubts about taking her along. She could be useful when she wanted to be.

He thought for another moment, before shrugging. "Fine, you can come. You might be able to find out what I actually am while we're travelling," a smirk appeared on his face before it disappeared. L walked to his room without another word, wondering how this journey would go.

May followed him as he walked away. "So, uh, do I needa pack anything? Should I do any preparing? Or can you handle all that?" She stood in the doorway of his room, waiting for his answer before she did anything else. She also wondered how the journey would go, thinking about exactly how dangerous it could possibly be for her to tag along.

"I have everything needed to pack, but you'll have to pack clothes. There's two empty backpacks on the couch, take one or both, then fill them with clothes. The room you slept in should have clothes that should fit you," he kept it to himself that it was his brother's room. L packed his spell book, journal, a well of ink, and a feather into a bag. He muttered to himself about what else he would pack, then decided potions and a first aid kit would do.

She made a thumbs-up motion and nodded. "Alright! See ya when I'm done!" She turned and walked out to where the backpacks were. She snatched one of them, and then returned to the room she had slept in, proceeding to stuff it with clothing. The garments weren't particularly nice-looking, but she wasn't in a situation where she cared too much about how she looked. She whistled as she filled the pack, then she forced it closed and flopped onto the bed. "Whew! There we go, all set!"

L stretched his arms as he gathered all the backpacks into a circle, excluding the ones that held his spell book and refreshments. Soon enough, the luggage was incased in a grey crystal. "We're leaving now, May!" He called, tossing the crystal in his hand. L wanted to move as soon as he could, it made his soul flicker, which wasn't a common thing to happen for him.

May ran out to where he was, looking prepared. "I'm ready!" she said, ignoring his weird crystal thing and waiting for him to lead the way out of the tree house. She had only been outside once before, when they went hunting. She was excited to see more of the world. She bounced on her heels, eyeing the exit.

He pocketed the crystal and put the backpack on. L walked to the entrance and jumped down, ignoring the rope he would have usually used to get down. Once he was on the ground, he looked back up and stepped back. All he needed to wait for was May. Now that I think about it, he thought. How is this going to go considering May is a human? The thought proved that this was going to be one interesting journey.

May used the rope to descend to the ground. Once she had her feet planted on the earth, she looked up at L, scowling at him. "Oh no, I just realized I have to deal with seeing your ugly face 24/7. Is it too late to turn back?" she joked, pouting. "Well, let's get a move on, and try to make my suffering as short as possible." The human girl waited for him to start walking. She would have fiercely taken the lead, but she had no idea which way they were going, so she couldn't do that without making a fool of herself.

"Would you rather see my face? Or an ogre that isn't afraid to tear your limbs apart while keeping you alive?" He asked, snapping his fingers as the treehouse disappeared. L started moving forward, not waiting for her reply to his question. The man knew of ogres, but here, they were only threatening when you steal or injure them.

"I mean, I dunno, I'm sure any ogre is prettier than you, even if its face was covered in my blood," she retorted sarcastically, following after him. She was too engaged in their childish debate to even notice the disappearing treehouse. "Anywho, no one beats my good looks, so I don't care." She beamed boastfully, ignoring the fact that with the lack of time she'd spent tending to herself, she probably looked like a wild mess.

L stopped, turned, looked May up and down, then turned back and continued walking. "Not really. I've seen better," he replied simply. He found himself having fun with the childish conversation. It was better than roaming his thought filled mind, he concluded. Having another being with him was nice, since he had been in solitude for nearly a year.

"Oi, I don't believe you!" May scoffed, crossing her arms. "There's no way someone like you could have seen anything better than me. That would be like lacing a peasant's food in gold. I don't believe it for a second." This type of chatter was nothing new to May. She treated everyone like that, for the most part. She couldn't get along with someone without expressing how much she didn't like them.
